I truly don’t understand this documentary. The titles are in Spanish and rafa is given English subtitles. Federer speaks in English. But the journalist speaks in French with no subtitles. Yet pascal Maria who is French, speaks an English. So what the fuck is going on?
Nadal is a big champion but clearly Federer push him in the best...and Nadal become is egal...but if Nadal was not so good...Federer win 3 or 4 Rolland-Garros And not to forget that the grass in Wimbledon was more slow at that time...more easy for Nadal
A beautiful composed documentary about one of the greatest match of all time, combined with inside information. We hear the players themselves, trainer coaches, parents, commentators, peers as well as historic footage, when they were kids. It gives you an understanding where the player comes from and what made him the champion he is today. A symphony of a documentary - you have to watch it, even when you are not into tennis.
I've been following tennis since 2005 and i will tell you guys. At least in my eyes there will never be no one as good as Rafa and Roger in tennis. Even Nole would go break all the records he will never be as respected as this two because what kind of tennis this two produced was second to none.
There was no roof or lights either. The tiebreak they played in the final set on centre court in 2008 i remember the sunlight was setting into the dark almost 😂
"... if you add everything together, there's no question in my mind overall; The 2008 match between Rafa and Roger is the greatest tennis match ever." LEGENDARY!

"What a treat, what a treat! Two Greatest Player of All Time, playing at the same time! We are so lucky!" - Martina Navratilova 18 GS champion (that means a lot from her)
Its October 2022 now and Federer just retired. I really want him to be the King of Grass for a long time!.... I also want Nadal to win more Wimbledons, and if that is the case he can stop Djokovic from winning another one, or else the latter would have broken Roger's record!
Very very good documentary so far, high production value and did the research. Few thoughts tho, having followed tennis at the time. Federer was Far from invincible in 2008, lost to young up & coming Nole in Australuan, absolutely demolished by Nadal at the French, and bunch of weird smaller tournament losses (was said that he had mono, maybe a factor, but also the up and comers were becoming stronger and hungrier as well). Still true he was the king of grass, but going down 2 sets fairly quickly to Nadal, couldn't help but think Fed doesn't stand a chance. Rain delay definitely seemed to help level the match to some degree. Sure there was the comeback, the 4th set tiebreak speaks for itself. Iconic match finishing in the darkness with a new very deserving (& up to then seen as fairly unlikely, on this surface, altho arguably 07 wimbledon final intense 5 setter proved he Could win it all) champ, still from a strictly quality of tennis / competition standpoint, it was a fairly run of the mill Federer Nadal match with a few amazing shots here and there. But don't get me wrong, Federer Nadal matches were almost always a treat and then some, so much unpredictability & contrast of styles, the ultimate battle of champions. We were spoiled to experience this rivalry for so many years, and I'd be amazed if anything close comes along to resemble it in 10 years or so
I’m really tired of people just saying that Federer is talented and Nadal is just an athlete. Nadal’s biggest attribute for me is his brain and the way he constructs points. He varies his game so much based on who he plays, particularly his backhand. Physically, he has not been the same player since 2013/14. He completely changed his game in 2017 to be less physical and in that time since, he has won 8 grand slams and counting. That is more than legends like McEnroe and only Borg, Sampras and the big 3 have won more. This is in 6 years without physicality.
I remember the 2008 final. Never seen such a great game and now in 2022 Nadal wins the French open champion at 36 and Federe also won the Australian open at 36. 20 major finals Federer 22 major finals Nadal. No disrespect to Djokovic but these two were the best to watch.
Wimbledon 2019 is so much worse for Federer career than this one, here Nadal and Federer were equally good and anyone could've won, it was 50-50 and only one can win. Wimbledon 2019 is different, he was the best players by a mile, but still lost
Yes, it is the greatest Tennis match ever ! Nadal had to beat 5 times back to back champion in his straight 3rd year attempt ! to hold the trophy Nadal had to beat Murray, Djokovic and Federer !
Only people who dont understand Tennis dare to classify Nadal as just effort, muscle, etc... he has way more vareity of shots than any player in history and he execute more different shots better. He is way more technical than anyone. Im not sure if its ignorance or arrogance. And of course he is the goat and by quite a distance. To me he is the top 1 and then there is a top 2 player behind.
I don't understand the localization of this documentary. On one hand most text and also the subtitles are in English. But then some of the text is in Spanish. And then there is a guy speaking French and they don't add any subtitles. I don't understand.
Better than anything hollywood could ever imagine. So inpiring to see the talent, efford and rivalry at its finest. It could be tennis, football or science, it doesn't matter, watching people giving the 100% and achieving the maximun about any discipline is the reason why human being can be so special.
