Mango power staions, off-grid living, off-grid solar, mittleider gardening method, medicinal herbs, berkey water filters, and other topics are all shared on this practical preparedness channel.
I have the ecoflow delta max ,two extra batteries , delta smart duel fuel generator, and a delta 2. My electricity was £50 to £60 a week. Now i pay less than £4 weekly on propane only for charging the system up in 1hr 40mins. I haven't even put solar panels up yet for full free energy charging.
Be careful becuase many insurance companies will refuse to insure you house if you have these type of batteries in you house. If you do not tell them and your houses catches fire they will refuse your claim.
The intro was enough for me. Who in the heck would pay 10s of thousands for solar? When you meet that person you meet someone who obviously can not do anything. Off grid solar should cost less than 10k, for the parts and is easy to assemble. It does not take a rocket scientist to do. But hey put your money into that electric company because this guy says so.
Terrible business model to manufacture and sell water filters of any kind in this day and age. People are always trying to get over on businesses. You can't sell lemonade nowadays without someone claiming it made them sick. Good luck to Berkey and all their employees !
lol why spend so much money on grid down just to have power for a few hours. just buy a cheap gas generator it will demolish any blackout for as long as you can pour gas on it.
I don't have any EXPENSIVE power station like this, instead I have 8 prismatic 307Ah LFP cells connected in series together with a JK-BMS device. I have a Victron 250|100 charge controller and a 24V/4000W sine wave inverter. So I have paid €1900 for all of these, including the appropriate cables and the housing that prevents the cells from bulging. So the charge is the same 7000 Wh, but the price is well below half of the price of your Mangoes. You just have to know how to build the whole package yourself. I know my system lags behind in that the JK-BMS only allows 200A current and the inverter ONLY produces 4000W. So, because of this limitation, I have to turn off the power from, for example, refrigerators or water dispensers, so that I can boil water or use the electric stove. But if I wanted to, I could get another battery pack and an inverter, in which case a total of €3,400 would give me a perfectly sufficient capacity for all devices at the same time and the total charge would be 140,000Wh - still cheaper than the Mango set you presented.
How many black filters do I need for a Big Berkey? I see some using 2 and some using 4. Do I need a fluoride filter with the black berkey filters? Thanks for all you do!
What kills the bugs is the oil, it suffocates the bugs. This method also keeps plants looking beautiful. My wife and I only use harmful chemicals on bathtub and toilet. Everything else we use vinegar.
Thank you for a forum to learn about how you are using solar paneling, and the opportunity to ask questions. I’ve heard batteries are expensive and that is why people are sold on tying back onto the grid. So, $90K in batteries, plus the investment in solar panels, and now it’s looking like an over $100k investment. Yup, I heard them batteries were expensive. Makes me want to build a house from the ground up, I mean, starting 1 or 2 levels underground. Whew! I had to stop at $90k and react😮, now I’m ready for the rest. Again, thank you for candidly providing information. I’ll remember you when our lights go out😂
I have a UV-9R Pro $27 radio and I can hit a GMRS repeater 15 miles away. I also have two Kenwood NX-3320 about $300 each and I can't hit the reapter from the same spot. I have to drive about 5 miles closer to beable to get into those repeaters. So, I am really lost faith in the more expensive radios.
It's hard to live when you lose someone I lose my dad then after a year my mom and only last December 29 /2023 my brother died too now I don't know how to live my life sadness pain in my heart 😢😢😢😢
Most other systems today come with stainless water faucet without paying extra like Berkey. Some other filters do not need to be primed. So many more options now than just the EXPENSIVE Berkey
What filters are you using now that the black Berkeys are not available and are they made in US? Have you talked about these filters and what their performance is?
Why would anyone buy a Berkey that is 2x or more higher in price and not even have access to the infamous black filters? At me time Berkey was one of very few systems of its kind. Today there are so many to choose from. Don’t forget most filters are interchangeable with other systems that are stainless steel and made just as well if not better than Berkey. Times have changed check other systems out and save lots of money for an equivalent water system
I’m in my 3rd year of gardening as I purchased multiple supplies of the Micronutrient Mix and it’s worked wonders in my soil. I’ve expanded my garden to 15 beds and I too had a grow house where I started from seed 150 plants. 75 corn that I’ve already transplanted. David doesn’t get enough credit for being a trendsetter but I’m a believer and my Berkey Royal that I purchased from David is part of my water storage and filtering project too. Thank you David. Your rock
There are tests on RU-vid in which UV5RTP aka UV5R8W emit 8.1 - 9.9 w from their power anps. Using a Nagoya NA-771 antenna, ( 2.15 dB, multiplier is 1.64 x), the ERP for these results would be 13.28 - 16.24 w
What's going to happen when the tree roots grow into those corrugated pipes? My front yard trees clogged up my home drain pipes last year. The plumber had to put a tool down the pipes to cut them out. Removing the trees to clear them out isn't going to be so simple when they get big. Any updates on this 3 years later? I love the idea for a raised grow bed because I'll just remove the grow medium to clean out after the season but for trees growing year after year with tough roots??? Not so sure this will work long term with thin corrugated pipe. Maybe if you use stronger 4" pipes and drill drain holes on the bottom instead or don't even use pipes and fill with gravel, then potting soil if you are never going to remove the tree.
