From what I can see, the biggest difference from the first war was that the defeat was far more complete. Germany in WW1 wasn't really invaded or occupied. Its economy collapsed as the food and resources ran out. After beating the biggest opponent of the war too. For the sequel, they held out as long as possible, had their entire country bombed to bits, and at the end simply had nothing left to fight with. No resources, no people, nothing. Essentially, it broke their spirit. While in the first war it was the decision of the government, with the spirit proud and angry, in the second no government was left to surrender. They were occupied and truly got to understand they were conquered. And in that moment of conquest, they got to learn they'd be Frontline of the next war. So the new governments chose sides (though with some arm twisting) and threw in with the new doctrine. Nazism was no longer useful. No longer attractive. And soon after, they'd be rebuilt under the auspices of their backers.
PEDRO the First WAS never married to the woman in the video. Empress Teresa Cristina was INDEED married to HIS son DON Pedro THE SECOND. Pedro The First’s Son he left behind still a 5 yo boy in 1931 when he left for Portugal to fight a revolution there against his brother who wanted to be king and by doing so he made it possible for this Daughter Maria the Second to be crowned queen of Portugal.
6:30 you would be surprised how little of the German legal system was uprooted. We still have a large amount of laws dating back to the third reich, including a quite difficult definition of murder.
What’s the best choice of music for a video about an insane monarch who was obsessed with Wagner and focuses mainly on to his obsession with Wagner? Tchaikovsky!
You know, I think we can learn a lot from this "experiment". Mainly that most people are work well together and can work maturely through aggression. It's only when there's someone with an agenda that goes beyond overall group benefits that it breaks down.
TOTAL TOTAL BULLSHIT! Ludwig was a devout Catholic, his supposed Homosexuality was claimed from his Dream Diaries, they dissappeared soon after his death, did they ever exist. His staff denied any rumours of homosexuality with the actor Kranz as well, or anybody else. A local guy was claiming to be the Grandson of Ludwig. The Bavarian Government colluded with his Uncle Leopold to get rid of him, so FAKE NEWS was the order of the day, do some research! Read some modern books about Ludwig, much better than spreading old rumours.
Hey Jack, I'm just suggesting, that you should do a video about Prophet Muhammad SAW because Michael Hart says he's the most influential person in history, but don't show the prophet's face
as someone who hadn't learned much about france's history / revolutionary history. i only know robespierre as the crazy guy who guillotined many people in paris. after this video i got to ask. how everybody are talking about napoleon's role in the revolution and not robespierre?!?!
So what I got from this. The number one factor in changing the minds and hearts of the German people. Investments and improvements allowing an economy where everyone was eatting and working but wasn’t based on militarism. I mean sure a simplification. But that kinda seemed to be what did it. Makes you think a little about current world problems? Is this what could solve so many problems… simply investing in improving peoples situation? When probably the worst modern society we can think of… lost the war and was still dabbling and considering remaining nazis while starving were shown… if you try this way we’ll invest money and your life will improve…. They got investments their lives improved and they decided on their own to fully turn away from negative deep held destructive beliefs. I mean when fascists took over it was because they were broke and struggling with unemployment repaying reparations…. Hitler gave an angry broken people someone to blame and in his militarization he gave them jobs which gave them income… of course also simplified.. it’s almost like people will believe and follow anything as long as in the process their own life is better when they do it. Interesting…. That it might be revolutionary to think that investing in people and places and improving peoples lives can actually make the world a better place and fix a lot of social woes.
