Hi everyone, My name is Dana, and this is my RU-vid channel. So, this used to be a bullet journal channel, now it's a sims 4 channel! If you like watching speed builds, lets plays and more this is the place for you! I would love to have you join the fam (:
One of my favorite things to do when I’m bored is to change random sims I see anywhere. For example, if my sim is having a baby, I’ll randomly change the doctor in cas. (Use testingcheats on, click enter, and then type cas.fulleditmode on, then click enter again. Hold shift on a sim and click change in cas.
I like making random twists. Noticed the husband on one save file being kinda mean every time the couple spoke, but it wasn't something she made a big deal about. Randomly one day I made him cheat on her with an old friend. Tore the marriage apart, but it's put drive in that save file I haven't had in a long time. Something out of the blue (even though it's in your head), the sim doesn't know it yet.
I play elves moving into human lands (opposite of Palia's theme lol). So my sims have pointed ears from the genetic inherent ear mod by starcaller senni. I have vampires and aliens as the ear mod requires those. Then they just poop babies. But on the subject of not getting bored this is a thing I'm afraid of overplaying since I get insomnia in phases irl. I burn up games quickly. So my rule is I can only play ts4 now during the daylight hours of real life. I'm bored but at least I'm not bored of Sims4. Looking for a second game I can play at night before I fall asleep. I don't want another house building game try to get something more combat orientated. I'm not paying $60 for Baulder's that's to much on my budget. Played everything else there is in spades. Like I said, insomnia.
I love starting my sims life stages off as a teenager in their family! It has made it so much easier for me to not get bored as quickly, teenage sims have a lot to do now and as an adult you have some sort of childhood memories and also grandparents for your kids!
Thank you. Do you know how fun and valuable it can be to observe these/ your sim storys? I tell you a story. I kinda sturggle with human connections right now, its all fine over all, because I have a lil trauma from my first end of my first 2year romantic relationship with a girl. Watching these romantic storys, but not with real humans feels healing somehow. I am a guy. You create such interesting storys and ambients, most sims lets players would never do. Also your voice and commentating is very sweet and relaxing. Thank you, it is very enjoyable. I might start playing the sims as well to prepare myself again for creating more fun storys in real life connections again. I will continue watching your creativity :)
Honestly, I don’t think it’s even the game’s fault I’m bored, this is happening to me with everything. I lost the motivation to draw, I can’t finish an entire video half the time, I can only watch 30 minutes of a show/movie, and I’m sleeping all the time. Idk what’s happening to me but maybe if I get an idea for this game I’ll pick up my Apple Pencil again 🙃🙃
I bought the game back on 2016, and I started to play it recently. Its only the Sims 4 with no packs ( I am going to learn what that is ). The reasom is because, I cannot draw my OC, so I can make a 3D model of him on the game & play. It has been a blast these two days !
I don’t think I’ve ever actually played this game and I have over 3k hours on it. I just change their clothes and decorate some houses and that’s it. Nothing else about it is interesting enough, you have to fill in the blanks too much by yourself. It’s boring.
Something I’ve done recently to spice up my game is played on short life span. If you’ve been playing this game for as long as I have, (6 years), it’s easy to get bored quickly with whatever family or scenario you’re playing. I tend to get attached to my Sims and I’ll play a few generations until my founders ready to die and then I don’t want to play that family anymore because I like my founder! If you play on short lifespan, there’s not enough time for you to get attached. You move through generations very quickly; itand becomes a lot more challenging to try to fit in everything you might want to when you have only a few days for each life stage. Thanks for your tips! 👍🏻💛
I’ve been playing the sims for years! I mean years and I would always make a lot of sims and get bored of them and make new sims. It so bad to the point where I had so many sims my game started crashing. I recently restarted my sims, or I just started a New game with no made sims and my gameplay is about me and my life and what I want to accomplish in real life. What I don’t have I will put into the storyline of the sims I just made which is me! If you haven’t played the sims, and made your gameplay about your life, and I mean making your sims look like you, give your sims traits that you have in real life, and live your goals on the sims, I found doing this has honestly given me big motivation in real life just by living a separate one on sims!
Yeah I do everything you said and it helps a little bit, but it also emphasizes how much "pretending" I have to do to get a story to play out. If play childhood friends, I have to "pretend" a crush has developed because there is no crush system. I was playing the landgraab family and I "pretended" a secret daughter was born (the sims could careless). I "pretended" she discovered the magic realm (b.c its not something a sim can discover). She became a bitter and evil spell castor who I "pretended" tricked people into drinking her cursed potions (b.c the sims only drink it if I made them do so). My boredom stems from all the "pretending" I have to do. I wish the game allowed me to see these things play out instead of having to "pretend" all these actions are happening.
@@katiehunt2978 I do have HSY and none of my teens have ever developed a crush b.c the system is extremely random and poorly implemented. Its not based on any type of attraction system or likes/dislike system, or even a compatibility system. The crush system is built like the bowling score system where nothing impacts it and everything is random. I also noticed it doesn't seem to allow me a way to cheat the crush in (so if your a person like me who never had the system activate even when no mods were installed, I can't even turn it on.)
Honestly, if you don't have a goal, the game would be boring. But if you're constantly doing challenges and push yourself towards it, it can be fun. It takes a while to get yourself fully immersed. And this is coming from someone who has quite a lot of packs. Getting packs doesn't mean anything, you can still get bored all the same just like with base game
@waitwhat9598 maybe try to play w different goals in mind like doing a rotational play w different households in one save , rotate every sim week to keep up w them. Add some mods like the family tree where you can start w extended family line, or thenursing home mod, summer camp, extreme violence, etc. Get real personable ie taking photos of your diff sims and putting their pics on the walls instead of the generic ones aspirations, creating rooms based off their individual personalities. I could list so many more things. Like some old folks say, if you're bored it's cause you're boring and not creative enough.
I know. I miss that so much. I'll never forget my first Sims 2 family - which was me and my bf! We had a lot of kids and it was just fun. With Sims 3 I got really into building and created beautiful houses - I don't even really do that anymore. I am watching all these videos on how to not get bored right now.... hoping I'll feel like playing.
For me its so hard to find good builds on sims, that only or almost only use the packs I have. Most of them use all pack available and I am bad at building myself 😤😤
I actually make tons of sims but just use one because I made him a background story that's so good no sim would ever be more special than him. I don't get bored playing with him because he is like the best sim💀
Those are some good ideas! I really think your changing lots and townies idea is on-the-mark. It's been like nine years! Of course we're all sick of the same faces and places XD
Idk if this is a popular opinion or not but cottage living seems to be the only pack worth the money. It has the gameplay, lore, build/buy, world and for some reason my gameplay always revolves around it. Every other pack seems mostly empty and lackluster but this may just be my subjective opinion
@@DannaBelle honestly yeah :0 Im curious about the consequences of her ex maybe being mad at Farrah Imagine her marriage was falling apart and she just refused to see it until there was Farrah and just puts the fault on her instead of everything else- So like maybe she tries to take revenge in the future! But they also could have a very strong friendship honestly that would be very cute
I still play from time time but haven't bought anything for over 2 years and will not buy Sims 5. I really like the look of the Paranormal pack but refuse to give EA any more money.
I remember when sims 4 was announced, my first thought was "oh they'll just add everything we already have in sims 3 and a couple of other things"... Well I was wrong🤡
I have played Sims from the very beginning, Sims 4 has been the biggest disappointment for me. After Sims 3, which had so much more, open world, taking toddlers for a walk in their stroller, cars shopping etc. So it was a bit like going back in time to Sims 2, and we the customers have had to pay to bring it up to a better level, which came with more bugs than I can remember in previous Sims. I haven't bought some of the packs, the supernatural and Werewolf, they just don't appeal which then deprives me of the extra content in furnishings. With Sims 3 you could just buy extras separately, plus that which came with a new pack which was value for money. I held off buying High School Years, when I did it brought new bugs into the game all of which haven't been resolved. I play for a few days, get fed up with the game crashing, and Sims who use the bathroom then walk down two floors to wash their hands in the kitchen sink, even though there is a loo next to the washbasin, then go back to the bathroom and have a shower. I have changed the layouts of bathrooms, to stop this, even making the bathroom just big enough to fit everything in, but it doesn't stop. My grandson who is a developer in the IT world says it is because the developers of Sims are under great pressure to bring out new content before it is ready and that corners are being cut by lack of staff who play and test the game and then correctany errors in the coding, because EA wants the income from gamers buying new content. I doubt I will risk buying Sims 5 when it is launched, if Sims 4 is anything to go by, there will be less content than Sims 4 and if we want to increase it it will cost big bucks to do so.
I’m new to Sims 4, only a couple of weeks in, I bought about 5 DLCs during the holiday sale…. I noticed for a game that’s been around for 10 years, it’s still very glitchy, a lot of DLCs are overpriced esp the ones that are old as dirt and some of these DLCs should’ve been in base game (EA always been money hungry with all there games from Need to Speed to some of their sports games)
Honestly, even though I played the sims for more than 10 years, I am just disappointed with what they are doing now. Like why do we have to pay for seasons - that should have been in the base game. High school years? Paying for a pack that focuses on teenagers going to high school? Stupid. The pets pack should have covered additional animals, not just cats and dogs 🤷🏼♀️. There are so many packs that should have been in the base game only to begin with! And their prices are rediculous. I also have a theory that they are mainly focusing on creating kits because a lot of people buy them. Why? Because its better to buy some content for a few dollars rather than buy game packs and expansion packs that do not even work!. And yes! I totally agree when you said "they hype us up but in the end they give us nothing". There is so much potential that this game could offer but they are literally give the bare minimum - they give crumbs, and that is why i stopped buying any packs. These games arent worth the hype at all. They create these trailers and you would think "wow, they improved with the game" but no. I get it, its business, they want to profit from us, but this is not the way. This is why im kinda interested in what they will do with Paralives. I secretly want them to exceed our expectations because sims seriously needs some competition.
