It might sound a little funny, but my love for custom built gear started with my love of medieval knights. Knights established rank and prestige via the intricacies of their armor, each article of which was unique and built just for the wearer. It has been said that the motorcycle rider is the closest thing to a modern day medieval knight, dressed in bespoke protective armor and perched upon an iron horse ready to battle fierce competition. We like to think of ourselves as modern-day armor blacksmiths here to serve you, the modern-day knight. We want you to feel a sense of pride and security every time you suit up for battle. That is why we design and construct every suit and gauntlet without compromise.
Bison Track believes your gear should be a reflection of you. We provide high quality, 100% bespoke race gear for the motorcycle road racing community. We are a family owned and operated company based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
wow, thats a really detailed vid on this topic on youtube so far. Is this measurement for race fit or comfort fit? How can i vary btw them. I want to opt for comfirt fit but it seems this guide was for race fit, please elaborate.
I found a peanut shaped kids exercise ball 80cm x 40cm that was a perfect shape and size to stretch my suit. Done in 20 minutes. I’d been trying to stretch it for days by wearing increasing numbers and thicknesses of sweatpants and tops inside the suit. Wish I’d seen this video ages ago.
Great video. I've got a question. Some websites say to take measurements' while standing? I am confused between standing and riding posture measurement's. Wouldnt it be very restrictive in riding position if we take measurement's while standing and similarly on the opposite side?
The only measurements we take in a riding position are #7 and 8 - upper and lower thigh. The reason for this is simply to put some weight on the legs and get the thighs flexed. Taking these two measurements in this position ensures the suit will be comfortable when you're on the bike and putting weight on the pegs. Note that measurements #10, 16 and 18 (calves, bicep and forearm) are also taken with the muscles flexed.
I searched this because trying to get a 90% black 10% KTM orange Alpinestars kit is very expensive. I thought why not get the cheap black & white one and dye the A*...I have an airbrush too 😜
It should allow you room to bend and crouch, but it shouldn't be loose enough to move the hardshell protection on the suit. The protection should move in the event of a crash.
Hey Rob, I really appreciate you taking me in to get measured up without an appointment up here at the Loudon Classic. I just found this video and you definitely got me excited to get into a custom suit. Very much hoping to be able to get it ordered before the end of the year. Thanks again and keep yourself safe! 😃👍❤🏍🏁🦬 Randy
These vertical videos were shot for TikTok and RU-vid shorts, which is why they're in this format. I'll work on getting a new horizontal video shot with the glove comparisons and bring the Thor.2 and .3 videos here to YT Shorts, in the meantime you can find them on our TikTok channel if you'd like to see the other models.
Why not do business in Vietnam? Alpinestars and Dainese manufacture their products in vietnam and the quality is better than pakistan. No one wants made in usa leather goods. the skill is not there.
We think the statement of quality being better is subjective. It's all about finding a good factory. There are good and bad in both countries, and we have found an amazing factory in Pakistan!
Useful video? 😊 I'm actually a downhill long boarder, but we ride very similar suits, And being able to bend down into a tuck on a fresh suit is going to be the difference between me making some of these chicane's next week!
Each come with their own challenges for repairs/alterations, but vegan suits are still able to be repaired and altered! Fair to say that the leather suits would have more options for different repairs though.
I hate that sunk cost fallacy type of shopping. Where they hide their prices, but assume you are too invested to walk away after you call. That being said... Don't you get your leathers made at the same factory in Pakistan as quite a few of your competitors?
There is one other company in the US that uses our factory, and a few big European companies as well. We aren't ashamed to admit that! Keep in mind, despite using the same factory, each of our suits and gloves are unique in construction, features and in some cases materials.
Hi Rob. Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. It shows me that you provide great customer service... something rarely seen in todays marketplace. I am interested in a Thor 1 in size 54. Question, is it possible to give you a deposit and have you hold the suit for me until paid in full? If so what would you accept as a deposit? Thanks again for your great customer service. God Bless
Hey there! Sorry I missed this message earlier! Unfortunately we don't take deposits but we do offer financing at 0% through Affirm. If you enter your order at bisontrack.com you can apply for the Affirm option at checkout! For immediate help you can always call or text us at 405-252-0484!
Beautiful suit and design. I found that you have it available on ebay for sale. But it said the size I was looking for size 54 was out of stock. Any plans on making more inventory in my size?
My anxiety comes from not being able to take it off. I can get it on and movement is snug but doable. Then I can’t get my arm out to start the process of removal.
Speaking as a Pakistani I didn't actually know that the industry had a bad rap, definitely something all future governments in the country need to get a handle on and your video was SUPER informative and something I'm going to share with family/friends in hopes of having corrected. I am not sure if Pakistan's ministry of commerce understands this issue and takes the time to invite brands to speak with them about issues/concerns they have had to address problems on an industry level. I've bought suits from Pakistan and LOVE them, amazing quality stuff. Travelling back in a few days and wanted to have a custom suede jacket made for me and a few more things while I'm there.
Absolutely. These are both great options but frankly speaking, they have failed to evolve to changing technology and today's construction methods. They're also quite expensive and the feedback we're hearing from our customers is that they're taking longer and longer to make race suits as fashion jackets become their primary source of income. We do business with US suppliers whenever possible and we have explored US-based production since day 1 - in fact, we continue to do so! But the fact of the matter is the same quality suit made here in the USA would cost MUCH more. These days, it's a global economy and you must adapt to survive. It's very difficult to overcome the quality/value provided by Middle Eastern and Asian suppliers. Perhaps in the future we will be able to offer a "made in USA" option!
As a new entrant into this industry as a manu your insights hit me with mixed feelings-demotivated yet oddly motivated. You shed light on client issues and hinted at doing better. I've been in those one-lightbulb factories, seen their struggles, trying to be a quality provider. Your research is spot on; they're skilled, but I believe every big business had a humble start. It's about passion and dedication. Your explanation was on point, and it taught me a valuable lesson. Looking forward to more advice from you in your vids.
