I searched this because trying to get a 90% black 10% KTM orange Alpinestars kit is very expensive. I thought why not get the cheap black & white one and dye the A*...I have an airbrush too 😜

@@BisonTrackGear absolutely! Would it be the worst thing in the world to paint over a green text with yellow acrylic paint without using the degalzer? It's a patch that was put on over the leathers from factory

The deglazer is not critical if you're touching in a small area. The hardest part is going to be covering the dark color with light. You might apply a little white and let that dry before going on with the yellow. Or, if it's a patch you can just buy a thread ripper and pull that puppy off!

You do great work, thanks for all the detail! I have a nice jacket with yellow stripes, I'd like it more if it had orange instead. Would I need to go white first or is light yellow light enough? Thanks again.

Thank you Ken! Going from yellow to orange shouldn't be a problem at all. Brush the orange right over the yellow!

Very helpful video!! Quick Q, to re-colour silver panels on a leather dainese jacket to black, would it be more suitable to use paint or dye?

Because of the top coat, paint is preferred over dye.

You can definitley use it on the protectors, we just wouldn't recommend it on the Kevlar areas of the suit!

Thank you for the video! I am wanting to change the colour on my Dainese jacket from fluoro yellow/green to red. Would you suggest white or another before putting on the red? Thanks in advance 👍

I usually suggest a little white as a base coat, although you may find that the red covers that light color right up without issue.

I have a dianese suit that was given to me by a friend. The body/chest area and legs are all perforated black leather. Is it possible to complete paint white all the black leather? Would really appreciate your opinion

Sorry for the delayed response! It's possible for sure but the longevity might not be great. Also, Dainese have quite small perforation which will be hard to paint without clogging.
