alguém me comentou sobre este filme e esta trilha sonora. assisti muitos anos após, li o romance, em um único dia, arrepiantes ambos. muito bom, como pode?
I love that the Innocents is getting the love it deserves after Haunting of Bly Manor's success. Turn of the Screw is a fantastic Henry James novella and these two adaptations are my favorite. And this song is a large reason.
Lyrics: We lay my love and I beneath the weeping willow. But now alone I lie and weep beside the tree. Singing 'Oh willow waly' by the tree that weeps with me. Singing 'Oh willow waly' till my lover return to me. We lay my love and I beneath the weeping willow. A broken heart have I. Oh willow I die, oh willow I die.
The young girl (Flora) is portrayed by Pamela Franklin who would go on to play Sandy in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, the vehicle that shot Maggie Smith to stardom .
Absolutely love this but particularly the second movement of this piece, Faceless Portrait. It needs to be released on Spotify for the world to hear it ❤
I love this song! I love the movie"The Innocents " it's so eerily creepy! This song is perfect in it's sadness and longing! If you like to read ,this movie is based on " The Turn of the Screw" by Henry James, scary, gave me the creep' n dreads! If you don't have access to the movie, Look up "Mile's Speech" ,pure horror, good luck sleeping, pleasant dreams!😧
Way back in 1898, American author Henry James wrote a haunting novella titled "The Turn of the Screw". Hollywood naturally picked up the plot and soon this poem, written by Truman Capote specifically for the movie "The Innocents", was presented for the young character "Miles" to deliver... which he does in spooky SPECTACULAR fashion!!! - entire poem reads as follows:...... 😫 What shall I sing to my Lord from my window? What shall I sing for my Lord will not stay? What shall I sing for my Lord will not listen? Where shall I go for my Lord is away? Whom shall I love when the moon has arisen? Gone is my Lord, and the grave is his prison. What shall I say when my Lord comes a-calling? What shall I say when he knocks on my door? What shall I say when his feet enter softly... leaving the mark of the grave on my floor? Enter my Lord, come from your prison. Come from your grave for the moon has arisen. Welcome my Lord. END. Yikes!!! ...if you've seen the movie you'll know how frightening these words came across! Ghostly shivers galore!
This song secretly tells a story about 2 lovers beside each other in their graves and eventually one of their graves were relocated and now one can't find the other edit - thank you for telling me what the story of this song actually is lol
LMAO that’s not hat the song is about…..that’s like a child’s version….so no…do you even know where the song is from? Christ. No one has deeper intelligence anymore. Or maybe 15% of us do.
@@6Haunted-Days also who cares if i dont know where the song is from, it doesnt make me dumb just for not knowing where a song is from and trying to theorizing what it might mean, even if i am wrong
@@oscarnewman1374 thank you for being kind and respectful about your explanation unlike @6Haunted-Days who tried insulting me after i merely just didnt know the context of this song
The song does start at 00:30. Good version. But the first 30 seconds detroyed the video. Then again at 03:40 the trying of make it haunted sounds or something, has just sounded as noise
Thanks for sharing your opinion of my arrangement. I was just having fun with the effects at the start and at the end, and I like what I created. Glad you liked the main part in the middle :)
Hi @salo120 I'm not sure what you mean, I'm sorry. There are no bongos in this arrangement. Are you referring to the percussive effects I created by tapping on my guitar in the intro and outro?
Beautiful old melody and lyrics, but sorry, your modern percussive "improvement" at beginning and end took away from the magic. Leave it alone, I say.@@DuncanGardinerClassicalGuitar
I just watched this movie for the first time and I'm still really on the fence on whether I believe the ghosts were real or not. Like I've seen plenty of media where it's kinda left up to the viewer whether or not the supernatural stuff was real or just in the main character's head, but most of the time I'm able to decide one way or the other. I wasn't able to with this film.
