Clifford Jordan many times remind me that other great saxophonist, Sonny Rollins. Here again, we have an individual playing technical without sounding technical. I swear Wes, without mentioning any names, some of the sax players that you showcase are TECHNICAL WIZARDS! But IMO, lack emotion. They sound like they're just playing exercises! But here, is a man playing with such feeling. As always, your transcriptions are 5 stars out of 5 stars!
Great transcription! As a sax player , it would throw me off to have the wrong enharmonic tones . For example in an Eb chord bar you have Ab and C# Db would be way easier to sightread
Hey, thanks for your comment! I notate the lines so you can try to analyze what scale is being used. I couldn’t find the Eb chord you mentioned, but for example, over an Eb7alt chord, I may notate certain pitches with sharps to indicate the E melodic minor scale is used.
Pure soul!!! This is how it suppose to be done. Technical, but with STRONG feeling! You have a lot of solos on your channel, but many of them IMO lack feeling. Anyway, Eddie Harris was KING, very original and a serious musician . Excellent transcription as usual.

That 5:2 line (0:38) and all of the offbeat rhytms that came after that was so slick. Not necessarily a fan of playing out for almost the entirety of the solo as Garrett did on this one, but his sense of build up and rhythmic feel I always enjoy when I listen to Garrett.
Dolphy was just coming from a completely different place with all the 12-tone stuff. Nobody else really has gone back down that road. I'd be curious how he chose his tone rows.
Mobley, harmonically original, always exciting. Stitt’s articulation is so clean and crisp, Bird sounds like he’s composing the history of modern jazz with every solo.
