The products has been dogshit for almost a decade now. The people responsible for the IP hate you, and blame every failure on you as a fan, while they spit on the past and lore Its over. Its time to move on. They killed it
It’s sad to see the things you used to love disrespected and destroyed, but after a while, you just get numb to it and spend your money elsewhere. I’m starting to be of the opinion that this was a decision made, perhaps subconsciously, but still on purpose to show people that their ideas don’t matter and emphasize the growing gap between the elites who run things and the masses who should quiet down, consume, and be entertained regardless of the quality, care, and delivery of said entertainment.
(BEWARE OF SPOILERS) I gotta say horror should be "scary" (creating a reaction and an emotional feeling of fear or dread in a person) or at least unsettling. I am also mostly not scared by horror movies I watch, but ideally they do create a feeling of unease. people pick certain genres to experience certain emotions, and horror is obviously there to be somewhere on the spectrum of "scary". if I want a movie that does not scare my I can watch a thriller or something completely different instead, and like you said, Longlegs really fits more as a thriller. and yes, scary things are objective, which is why some people say the movie was scary, and some didn't find it scary at all. the expectations for the movie were way too high in my opinion, it got hyped way too much by everyone. personally I was very excited for it, and sadly mostly let down. it had some really great moments, just the opening scene alone was amazing in my opinion. but it fell flat along the way. mostly cause of the satanism aspect, which I just don't find scary. It was not a bad movie by any means, I enjoyed a lot of the camera work and set design. the story just wasn't what I hoped for, and that's fine in the end. I am not about to go review bomb the movie or spew hate about it. but people are allowed to feel disappointed if a "horror" movie didn't scare them as much as they had hoped :(
The movie needed to be longer. As others have said, there’s a big information dump in the 3rd act, and it felt rushed. They should have given the movie another 45 minutes to show not tell. It gave me the feeling the writers were like, we gotta get this thing down close to 90 minutes. I agree it wasn’t really scary but still overall a good movie. The dolls were creepy for sure
The end of the interrogation scene is the first time I have ever been genuinely viscerally disturbed by a movie to where I had to look away and was genuinely speechless, they crafted the entire movie to lead up to that and it was amazing. This movie is my favorite movie of all time for a lot of reasons tho
the fans don't "do" anything but react to what they're provided BY the production - provide better stuff and fans will react differently. There's nothing for fans to "do" better here except hope and leave when hope fails (and it pretty much has)
Yeah modern star wars doesn't feels like star wars anymore. It has the Jedi, lightsabers, lasers, spaceships... but something feels wrong. It misses the soul of Star Wars. The basic idea that it was build around.
Star wars was never a good franchise never did it in the Prequels and I do not like them. Because they're not good movies, and it doesn't now. Star Wars works best as a TV series.
It is honestly sad that Disney has destroyed Star Wars, they have been a company which is canablizing itself for years. They killed their fairytale movies with the new live action movies and they killed the Marvel movies after Inifinty War, I'm not really surprised that this is happening to Star Wars as well because if they don't respect franchises that they created then how would they respect ones that they bought. I thought my feelings about Star Wars and the like was that I'd grown up and they were things that only appealed to my child self, but that is unture. The original movies had some issues but they still hold up even as I've grown, it was Disney who killed Star Wars. They murdered one of the greatest fictional works of the 20th century.
People are becoming less and less interested in SW because that's Disney's goal by making slop. Blackrock is going to give them the money either way as long as their shows are woke. If you are interested in real SW content, you can find it in the old Expanded Universe. Not really shows or movies, but rather books, comics and games.
Do you want a Rey Movie? Rey Movie, huh? Or a little bit more of the Acolyte? They cant let the Skywalker era go. It has to be a piece of Skywalker. They fumbled the skywalker era so hard, that i feel repulsed watching Star Wars now. Now that the reveal proofed that Darth Plagueis is really only Harvey Weinstein, we should just stop accepting Disney as Canon.
All I want is a pod racing show that has nothing to do with the main galactic conflicts. They could just adapt all the major storylines in modern F1. Could be so dope.
The insane part is that all Disney had to do was adapt some parts of the EU and they would have had a (at least mostly) satisfied fanbase It blows my mind that they insist on spending all their time and money trying to draw in audiences that will never be devoted to star wars, while simultaneously shitting on the fans that made it successful in the first place
Only thing i'm still hopeful for is Andor season 2. Rogue One and Andor are the only things left holding my interest. ...which hurts me to think outside of it. All roads lead to the sequel trilogy.
What do you mean glory days? Star Wars is in its stale toxic Disney phase fans too Both claim to be each others enemies instead of love for Star Wars there is hatred from both sides
My core complain after the Acolyte is: it used to be very simple morality: Dark bad, Light good. It’s also fantastic for us to have more mature, morally complex stories, but to squeeze that into SW is stretching in original skin far more than ever intended, and it reframes (and imo devalues) the original movies. The OT and the Acolyte should be in the same genre, not the same story. Greed has devalued both. Of course, it’s fine if you have a different value-system, but does that at least help you “understand all the hate” a bit?
I loved Star Wars, I didn’t hate any trilogy and I thought the prequels were the best. I played the kotor games and they were so good. After, when I watched the sequels I thought it couldn’t get any worse, but it did
Bro WHAT R U TALKING ABOUT, BRO, STAR WARS IS PEAK RIGHT NOW, I MEAN.. R U KIDDING ME? HOW COULD U POSSIBLY FORGET THE ICONIC SENTENCE "SOMEHOW PALPATINE RETURNED" I MEAN, IT WAS PEAK CINEMA! I COULDNT WAIT UNTIL THE MOVIE WAS OVER TO GO SHAKE VINCE GILLIGAN'S HAND! AND MY GOODNESS, THE LAST JEDI WAS AWESOME TOO!, JAMES GUNN DID A WONDERFUL JOB PORTRAYING REY AS A TEST SUBJECT WHO WAS IN HIGH INTELLIGENCE AND FELT FOR OTHERS! I CRIED AT THE END!!!
My theory: in part, it is franchise fatigue. So much if SW is tied to Jedi, ex-Jedi, neo-Jedi, Jedi/Acolytes/Pads turning to dark side and of course Sith. The whole Force Awakens is the same plot elements- hunt for proud with secret, force sensitive discovering powers, planet size weapon that blows up; Maul & Palpatine not dead. The viewership has dropped steadily since Mandalorian. The Mandalorian had a non-Jedi protagonist & the little green kid (gr8 fir merch & so Disney princess, e.g., Mushu in 1998s Mulan). Kenobi had E McGregor & a familiar character. Supposedly Acolyte Sz 2 is cancelled. Reportedly KK & crew want to "Expand the SW fandom." Seems like it isn't working. Calling people "-ists" and "-phobes" isn't working because they've already gotten of the train. *cosmicbook.news/the-acolyte-nielsen-ratings Don't trust sites like Rotten Ts.
I've been interested in Star Wars since watching the original trilogy on VHS. As I aged, I've watched the prequels, watched the clone wars shows (two of them), read some comics, and played the video games that caught my eye. By the time Disney announced it's so called sequel trilogy, I wondered how it will play out. Sadly, they're disappointing to even think about. That, and the latest media Disney dished out is so messy that only a child who doesn't know better would understand. Am I sad at how Star Wars is now? Yes. Am I gonna throw my interest in it away because of that? Hell no. Disney Star Wars is dead, but the Legends and EU Star Wars will live on in our hearts. No matter what, I'm going to keep the memories of the good Star Wars stuff right where my brain and heart is, because those memories are a part of my childhood that I got left.
At least there are the pre-Disney books to consume, I was pretty meh when Force Awakens came out, but The Last Jedi was just insulting and Rian Johnson is a prick, made me sick watching an interview after the Last Jedi had come out where he said, with Mark Hamill in the room, “Well no one liked Empire when it came out either” The man is full of shit. Anyway just as Disney tossed all the great canon they had to work with, I tossed this stuff and went back to the original canon. I know George never put his blessing on all the books or anything, but they at least have so much more respect for the source material. I’m holding out hope that fans will eventually make fully fleshed out versions of the Thrawn Trilogy, individuals on RU-vid have already taken a good crack at it.
They should stop making most franchises. Milked to oblivion with no end in sight. Desecrating pre-established lore needlessly, blaming fans for their shit show, and calling them "ists" and "phobes." Not a very smart move but hey what the hell....who cares now....
I have been a Star Wars fan for about 10 years since the force awakens came out And after that I started getting really into it like the lore different Planets, creatures, animals, technology, languages, Weapons ships, vehicles, quotes etc. And For the past months or years, there was a time where I just wanted to Give up On a franchise that I love since the force awakens just because of how the fan base is it was just too much for me to handle Because not only here I see it On youtube put facebook instagram etc. But then I tried my best not to let go of a franchise because if I did let go of a franchise that I loved and I wouldn't watch all these newer shows Especially the movies as well. But I could totally understand where you're coming from And why star wars has been pretty disappointing for you and you guy's as well and i fully respect on that. But for me though I'll still continue to watch star wars because again I don't want to let go this franchise I want to keep continuing watching it just without the toxic Getting in my way.
Its the exact same for me. Andor, mandelorian S1 and clone wars was amazing, but the rest was either just uninteresting or borderline insulting. I stopped watching after Kenobi and have regretted nothing, there are other shows i can watch. Its pure apathy now. I dont even care if they start butchering the star wars canon anymore. The only sad thing is to see how much potential literally EVERYTHING had, but still most of it all failed
@@ChopSueyyy rogue one was awesome too, in my opinion i loved the characters in that movie, i mean a blind old man thats obsessed with the force and a person whos there to save him from his mess with a machine gun IS GENIUS XD
@@ChopSueyyy oh mb did i say rogue one? Oh my apologies, i meant rise of skywalker. That movie was PEAK! The way palpatine returned was insane! I ran out of the theater to shake vince Gilligan's hand as soon as the movie was over!
after one too many mediocre star wars productions I phased out of the franchise completely for about a decade. Saw Andor of late, it was a good piece of story telling for once. Still don't have much faith in the producers.
