My name is Luke and, like you, I love trains. I am a RU-vidr, voice actor, and train enthusiast and since 2005, I've had trains on the brain. My inspirations? Coasterfan2105 and AmtrakGuy365. Now I've created my own videos of model trains and real trains with my own style. This includes anything from local railfanning to informational videos to my popular Steam Locomotive Profiles series. I also have a website for newcomers, old rail buffs, and for people who want to ask questions. Come along for Train Guru! All Aboard!

Side Note: If you have any questions that you don't want to ask in the comments section, just email me. If you are interested in voiceovers, email or message me on my website, Twitter, Instagram, or in the comments section.

Copyright Notice: If you would like to use my footage in videos, you can use my footage if it is for educational, teaching, parody, etc purposes.

In the UK we have a lot of bridges and underpasses. This kind of open rail where high speed trains run fast alongside pedestrians is far far less common. Seeing things like 1:55 and 3:04 are so strange to me. Level crossings (where road traffic crossed directly over rail) have very prominent barriers and lights/noise when train is coming. Accidents still happen though.

Train op here, had a near miss today which could have been far worse. That’s what got me here today…. Don’t understand why people try to beat a train🤷🏽‍♂️

Why in the hell would they make that engineer back the train up and replay what had just happened? It’s a terrible tragedy that woman lost her life, but it’s ridiculous they made the engineer go through it again.

I don't know how you can feel bad about this. The train is on a track, it's universally understood that it can't stop quickly. All the safety precautions were in place. She made a massive mistake and ran in front of a train that she clearly couldn't make it past. Her complete and total lack of ability to judge distance is what killed her. That's nobody's fault but her own.

I bet that lawyer feels guilty for life. She probably felt safe next to him because he went first. He probably thinks about how he shouldn’t have ran, or how he should have reached out for her in the nic of time.

I lived 25 years close to train rails, and it is a very common mistake to believe that you can get ahead of the train you are seeing and completely ignore the approach of another one, I found myself with that surprise several times, and I know people who died from that surprise.😮

Her lawyer did not even make any attempt to stop her from crossing. He could have held out his arm to warn her but he did not.

I think the lawyer was partly to blame for this accident, she was just following him and suddenly he stops when he sees the train and when she sees it it is too late.

I've seen this on faces of death and it's very sad and disturbing. Even though it just looked like a tragic accident and forensics would've had the coroners report, but has anyone considered suicide may have been a factor, just saying. I would hate to think if it really was 😢

I live in Central West NSW, Australia close by the line that runs right across the continent. One night a young bloke quite drunk passed out on the train tracks. An east bound train and a west bound train hit him. The Engineer (driver) of the west bound train thought he had hit something and rang a local Railway Inspector who found what was left. The worst part was I knew him and the police had to wait for the Forensic Team to get there, all we could hear all day was the boom of the shot guns shooting the crows because they didn't have enough sheets to cover all the bits that were spread up the tracks.

As a kid I wanted to be a train engineer. But when I was 12 three kids got hit by a train near my house, and I was unfortunate enough to see the carnage in person. I realized I would never want to go through what that Amtrak crew had to go through.

I live in PineBluff and my family has a lot of history on the railroad, from the cotton belt days up to now. My late grandfather has some of his things from the railroad on display in the PineBluff railroad museum. As a kid I loved the 819, now I’m 23 and would love to see it moving on the tracks again, after all I’ve only seen it in the museum.

Three thoughts… 1. The engineer of the train that hit her did not know he hit her. The engineer of the stopped train had to radio him of what happened... 2. The signais for this particular line (at that time Burlington Northern) works like this...when a train hits the circuit, it triggers the lights/bell. After a predetermined time, the bells stop ringing...when another train hits their track circuit, the bells will start ringing again... 3. This is what I can't figure out...If the lawyer was from Downers Grove, he should have known that there's going to be a parade of trains (locals and express) at that time during rush hour. What was he thinking?

More examples of people not being aware of their surrounds and paying attention. The crossing gates and noises are there for a reason. It's even worse these days with people looking at their phones and walking around with headphones on not paying attention to the road or surrounds.
