In Stafford Virginia on Aquia Creek, I have skinks, and the fence lizard living harmoniously on my brick front porch and trees around my house. Beautiful

I live in northern Illinois. I have never seen a lizard up here

Eclipse 2024 was a Once in Lifetime event Again. Clay’s video documented this special day with family in a quiet forested area near Makanda. I viewed the same eclipse in a public setting (SIU) with a crowd of 15,000. If I could view a total eclipse again, I would rather enjoy the quiet of the forest and the singing of birds and chirping of crickets. Thanks for Sharing !

Are you aware of there being a heron rookery there? I've seen pictures of one connected to that place but it could've just been some internet algorithm thing. Probably paddle around there some day to see for myself. I've been to the falls there, they're really neat especially when the waters high.
