Newly Hatched Mallard Ducklings. 

On big Lake Gogebic in Michigan's UP, a female mallard with 10 little newly hatched ducklings came swimming by our pier. The waves were big, but mama mallard seemed to be leading them along the shoreline without much trouble. Like all little ducklings they seemed to be doing just fine swimming in the big waves of the lake. They have a ways to go before they don't look so vulnerable and are more independent, but ducks have been more or less successfully doing this for a long time, so hopefully they all make it.
