There is no way for anything to be perfectly & honestly preserved 100%. The Koran is not the divine, unwritten word of God because God does not send physical matter down from heaven, he spoke to people in spirit and dreams, like with Moses, Jesus, etc.

To end the prophet-hood and make the eternal book to correct all the misinterpretation and corruption of the previous books 3. It's a miracle, Allah had to give Muhammed miracles for the people to believe him. 4. Allah wanted to test them to see if they can preserve the word of God or no That it was to be a test for those who had been given the Book - would they play their role in preserving the Scripture? Would they believe in what it said? Would they follow the Messenger, the Unlettered Prophet, whom they found mentioned in the Torah and Gospel? Just to make everything clear We Muslims believe that the Gospel and the Torah are both the word of God. However they weren't preserved properly, when the Quran mentions the people of the Gospel it's refering to the people in Jesus' time. The Quran however is the word of God and is protected and preserved by Allah. And if the Quran copied from other books such as the corrupt Gospel, why didn't it copy the mistakes?
