Welcome to the world of the DragonLance Saga! Dragonlance is a high fantasy setting created by Laura & Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis. The world came to life with the first Advanced Dungeons & Dragons module ‘DL1: Dragons of Despair’ published by TSR in March 1984 and the first novel ‘Dragons of Autumn Twilight’ published by Random House in November of the same year.
This channel is a celebration of this one-of-a-kind, high fantasy setting. It will include information about the Dragonlance Saga and the world of Krynn, including features on characters, events, stories, art and more!

I’m reading the new trilogy right now and man I love how they fleshed out Magius’ character more in it and his relationship with Raistlin in it. Love his character.
Awesome! Cyan Bloodbane was one of the most influential dragons in Krynn history when you factor in Lorac's nightmare and the shield over Silvanesti later on. So much more interesting than other fantasy dragons like Smaug who loves gold. 🐲
Yea, he wrote the book on Dragonlance Minotaurs, litterally! The story is about a Priest of Chemosh who charters a minotaur vessel to raid treasure from sunken Istar.
@@AdamSuperAC To be fair, its not a minotaur centric story, its a priest of chemosh and his would-be sacrifice centric story. It all just happens on a minotaur vessel.
The First DragonLance 'Book' I ever bought... 'The Story That Tasslehoff promised' I just did a segment mentioning this. A most excellent book. "Dead on Target" written by Roger Moore who in my opinion wrote all the best DragonLance short stories.
I'm currently writing an adventure centred around Solace in a lead for players for DL1 and used the Elven calendar reference for Autumn Twilight as a festival where pilgrims led by Seekers head from Solace to Haven to give thanks and tithe for the conclusion of Autumn Harvest. I really like how you have marked the moons stages on the calendar days.
The thing that keeps me hating Krynn is the level limitation. You get to 18th level and you are finished. 😢 Your very first 9th level spell and brakes?!? No.
@DLSaga - When the most besought combat spell is 3rd level Fireball.... that should say it all. In all the games I played in we could do spell research, weapon creation. It made things interesting, not boring. But DnD has become so dumbed down it seems it is now useless. 2E was the best era. But I liked the previous ones also.
Just found your channel and love the videos! Interesting, I’m reading the new trilogy from Weiss/Hickman right now and Magius actually says he made it out of a carved branch and is applying spells to it often. I know this video was created 2 years ago and maybe this new trilogy is now offering more details and clarifications to both Magius and Huma since they are secondary characters in the 2nd book, Dragons of Fate…. Very good trilogy so far.
Weis and Hickman ignored all of the lore other authors wrote for their latest trilogy. There are a ton of inconsistencies in them. I have spoiler and spoiler free reviews on the site.
I never realized the titles of the original three Chronicles novels were based on Elven months. Huh. You learn something new every day. Thanks, Adam, for the fantastic video.
It’s good but the second book leaves me confused for two reasons: why so much time in the mountains on the Griffon quest, and how exactly did a war last for forty years? That is a huge amount of time that I need some sort of explanation how Ergoth didn’t go bankrupt
@@DLSaga I look at every bit of lore as an opportunity. If not for gaming it directly, for tying it jnin with something later. I will make my own explanations for this one
@@AS-qy1zl Yea, I would imagine mining for resources was a massive part of their wealth generation, even in places where they had no rights, as we saw logging the same way was the catalyst for the war. I also wonder how much of it was active and how much was like the USA/Russia cold war in the 80's?
I can't believe it took me this long to find this channel 🤯. I feel like the dumbest fan on earth. I would only like to add that you left out Valerie Valusek as one of the artists. This is the greatest thing I've ever found on RU-vid. I have been a lifelong super fan of dragonlance since Jr high. Which was 88-89 for me😅. Thank you so much for this 🙏
Man, I've always loved a loyal bad guy, and Blue Dragons in DL were among the very best. Soundwave from the Transformers and Juggernaut from Xmen/Deadpool comics were among my favorites for the same reason......I swear to anyone reading this that I'm a grown adult! Sigh.... 😂
Thanks for highlighting these Dwarves. I had forgotten about them over the years. Just how Kender filled the slot of Halflings in Krynn, I think these dwarves fill the Duergar slot. As time goes on I find more appreciation for the racial tweeks that creators made. A huge part of what makes Krynn "Krynn" in my estimation. Awesome content.
Great stuff as always! This vid got me thinking about how much the Dragon armies relied on the Zhakar and other dwarves for quality metalworking for armor and weaponry. It didn't seem like the Draconians would have the patience to craft weapons or armor, yet they were being created by the hundreds at a ridiculous rate and needed to properly equipped. It re-contextualizes just how important the Companions' alliance with Thorbardin was. If the Dragonarmies had a powerful "manufacturing plant" operating in Western Ansalon as they did in the east, it would have given them a huge edge. And that's today's overhinking comment 😂 Cheers!
Good points. There's a lot of adventure writing oportunites that could centre around the parties efforts as behind-enemy- lines resistance cell, hampering the supply lines of the dragon armies.
