Welcome to my channel Rambling With Ritchie. Here I will guide you to places you may have never heard of or seen before from caves covered in rocks and crystals to walks with waterfalls and stepping stones.
Folks, Johns description of the descent did not convey the steepness of the devils steps, unless you are very surefooted and wearing sturdy boots/shoes do not even attempt the walk. Every year people have to be rescued from the glen after falls and some serious injuries, and Scottish Fire and Rescue have enough to do already. Having said all of that its a spectacular place and many thanks to John for a great Video😄
Well, thank you Very Much Ritchie for taking the trouble to log the route in such detail for us. And, with returning so often to retrieve the Camara from those varied & well angled views of yourself doing the climb, you must have walked it one and a half times over; you deserve a medal. 👏👏👏
It's changed a lot since I was last there more than 30 years ago! Certainly was no well made path! We climbed the Mickledore route by mistake, as it was not so obvious that there was a path there. Hoping to climb it next year, so this has been really helpful!
2.5 miles reqds as so small and won't take long. 😂 of course it's not, it's blooming hard. Looking forward to this. Wonderful footage and looks like you had a decent day. Just loved it thank you good to see you back
So helpful and honest. Was going to buy one but I think I'll leave it . As far as the water coming in when you drop the porch, can you not zip up the main door panel first so the water doesn't go into the tent? X
I think this looks a great tent for the money. It’s good to see a new brand of roof tent on the market. It also has a porch as an optional extra. All tents suffer from condensation even the Tentbox brand.
👌 .. thanks for taking me along the trail Ritchie, I have very fond memories of holidays to Ingleton as a child in the 70's.. the waterfalls being a particular favourite. I've just booked a cottage for a week in September & to get me back up to speed decided to watch your video. I've come to the sad conclusion that I'll not be able to manage the trail due to foot Neuropathy .. I'd forgotten the terrain & amount of steps - something I'd not paid attention to as a youngling. .. a bit gutted as was looking forward to re-visiting with my family & dog. Thankfully your beautifully produced video has helped me wander this gorgeous trail without crippling myself! 😂 All the best fella xx
Hi, I am a new fan & subscribed to your RU-vid channel. I want some important information about your channel so that you can grow the channel very quickly. So how can I contact you?
Hi Rich ! It looks like tonnes of fun and we would love to book something like this. We have added this to a bucket list of things to do 🙌 amazing ! Great job new subs here Chelsea and Mike
I’ve just bought one,it now has a zip inside above you so you can unzip it to create air flow which is covered by the outer tent so no water can come in
Awww Christina. I am honoured u have asked but I don’t know how I would do it? It took me AAAAGES to make this and I’m not exactly a professional. As you can see with all my other videos I just make videos as a hobby. Feel free to email me though at jritchie7188@aol.com
Out of curiosity, could you retrofit vents in the roof? The roof looks to be a “second skin” over the tent? Looking at getting one myself. I use a bivvy when I go fishing and tbh you get the condensation in them too depending on the weather.
I’m really not sure to be honest mate but I’m Soon gonna do a follow up review for this video because since I did the review and I’ve started using it with windows slightly open and a pillow under my neck I’ve been having some great sleep in it
@@RamblingWithRitchie ah great stuff. That’s reassuring. I’m thinking of getting it myself. It’s about 650 if you have a go outdoors account which I do and possibly a bit more off as I hold a blue light card too. I think the fine tuning to ease the condensation is acceptable for such a low price point. Thanks for the reply
@@RamblingWithRitchie I went to go outdoors today for a mooch and they had one on display. They must have listened to people’s comments. The interior is made of a better material by the looks and they added a zip up vent in the internal roof so you can have it open but still be waterproof. Seems to be really sturdy too. I let the kids climb all over it and rock the crap out of it. Think I’ll definitely be treating myself
So nice talking to you today Ritchie at the shop you work. I will definately watch all your videos buddy. Perhaps could join you soon on some walks 🙂👌👍
@@hugostieglitz238 personally I would if I didn’t have one already. They are on offer at £650 right now for the vertex lite at Go Outdoors. Then, if you use top cashback u get another 9% back which is another £58 back
Been looking at these but can see all the same review as what you said I have seen they have brought out the oex Vertex Lite 130 Roof Tent apparently made some new changes to this with discount codes I can get it for around £550 still in two minds after the the reviews and this vid 😅
Hey mate. Defo get it. Since doing this video I did a camp in it again. Weather was perfect. Nice n warm n dry. Had the windows open slightly to let air circulate through. No moisture at all, could breath fine and I made sure I had a decent pillow. Dream nights sleep
That is correct mate. They give u all the gear u need. Wait till Sunday I have a new video coming out called Honister Pass: The Adrenaline Pass. Costs about £100 but you get to do The Infinity Bridge Climb The Mine 30m Jump
In everyones oppinion, what is the best mine to stop at in Castleton? out of Blue John or Treak mine? or speedwell, etc, I have passed here for stopovers for hikes and a wild camp on Kinder scout but never explored the mines!
Hey. Thanks so much for the message. I’ll be honest with you I can only say Treak Cliff as blue John wouldn’t let me in with the GoPro so I haven’t been in but if u watch this video u will just see how fantastic this cavern is.
I have been to Blue John Mine years ago, but after watching Ritchie’s video, I think Treak mine is better. They are different and unique. If you have time, better visit them both.
Cheers for watching Dan. I have since used this on a sunny night. Had the windows left and right slightly open and never had an issue and had a great nights sleep. However if u do think about getting one get on top cashback and either blacks millets and go outdoors do 20% cashback now and again so u get a nice chunk of money off. Get it for about £680 then
@RamblingWithRitchie I was literally in go outdoors an hour ago I said to my Mrs that's good value as I have been looking at the tent box recently which is considerably more. Think il keep shopping round before splashing the cash. Thanks for making the review very much appreciated
@@danclifford2986 cheers mate and thanks for watching. Can I just say I’m still really glad I’ve got it. I’d say it’s defo an end of spring summer beginning of autumn one.
