I suggest you buy & read the novel:- Clockwork Angels by neail Peart & Kevin J Anderson ( its a wonderful story) and then listen to this album in its entirety......then the lyrics will make sense, and I suspect your admiration for Neil's writing will climb to an even higher level.
It is pronounced Qeens - Rike as one word. The typical spelling is Reich but it can also be spelt "Ryche" with that thing over the Y. Rike, like Hike. Qeensrike. I hope that helps.
That roughness is known as raspiness & is always desirable. Elvis was a baritone & he had worked on going right down into his chest voice, as opposed to many singers who have head voices, which doesn’t give much depth to a voice. Although Elvis was a baritone, he could actually go down into the upper ranges of bass & also right up into the tenor range, so unlike many singers, he had a great vocal range. Elvis also had a wonderful natural vibrato which covered a wide range, making his voice virtually impossible to auto-tune, thankfully, & he doesn’t need pitch-correcting as so many singers do. So what we have in Elvis is a beautiful natural raw voice that has not been touched by modern technology, thank goodness.
This originally did not have the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with it, & they have cut out some bits which I really love in this song. If you react to Just Pretend 1970 Live Las Vegas (but Not with the Philharmonic Orchestra) I think you will enjoy it more. They added to Philharmonic orchestra to several of his songs to create a new album in 2015, but most long term Elvis fans prefer the songs the way Elvis intended them to be.
When he first recorded this song, he did do it much slower, but Elvis always enjoyed changing things around. I think he got bored with singing the same old thing over & over again at his concerts, so he would change tempo or add things to it. So yes, when he recorded this song originally, years before, he did sing it more slowly.

Katrina Velarde (who is as powerful of a vocalist as Mori) tried to cover it and even went higher but not as pleasing to hear as Morissette's rendition was.
i dont think its live singing. But its ok. Because they dancing alot. Its impossible to sing stable in this mode. Even Su-metal stop dancing while singing. And she have much better singing skills than Yui and Moa.
