Hi. The steps shown in this video seem to still work fine in the latest version of Reaper. There is an alternative method suggested in the comments below for triggering external instruments which also works great. @@scalermusic thanks.. i figured out. Needs to be VST3 not AU or other. Otherwise would not work in my case with reaper.. one Track with scaler VST3 on it. One other track with a synth.. The scaler track routed to the synth track... with Audio of on the routing. Also turn off the sound of scaler in the sound selector. In case someone uses Reaper🤗
@@TracingFlares Yes this is unfortunately a limitation of the AU plugin format not having a MIDI output. So the VST version is required to trigger external instruments.

Hi Scaler 2 can only be downloaded from 'My Account' at Plugin Boutique where you purchased it from. Click on the installation instructions under 'My Account' once you are logged in.
How do I get the MIDI out of Scaler and into Cubasis? On Mac you can just drag and drop it onto whatever midi track you want in your daw. I don’t see a way to copy or paste from scaler into Cubasis.
You're completely ignoring the fact that when you actually record it, it plays back the note you're playing as well as the chord that said note is triggering. What a completely useless af tutorial.
Still needs more chord inversions and also a on button so it’s permanently showing guitar chord ! Annoying that you have to go back every time u t change chord ❤
This sounds like an issue you are having with Logic. Try a few things. Make sure you have installed the correct ac Scaler 2 installer. Go to logic Plugin Manager and search for scaler and reset and rescan selection. Ensure you are trying to load the midi fx in the midi fx slot or the instrument in the instrument slot. Please refer to Logic Pro X resources for further help there. Hope this all helps.

Both are the VST. Scaler Audio loads on an audio channel. Scaler 2 loads on an instrument channel. The former intended to detect audio from your audio channel.@@rubstroll1

Doesn't detect the duration of the chords. This is fine for a pop song where the chord changes are very few and obvious. I was trying to use this for jazz/gospel and the fact that it doesn't detect the duration of the chords is a bummer. In that kind of style where chord changes are fast and less obvious it is useless 😢
Why put scaler on an "in FX chain"? It's not needed at all and overly complicated. Just insert new instrument, choose Scaler. Now add another instrument to the same track, and choose whatever instrument you want to hear. So both on the same track. Open up Scaler and set sound (felt piano will load automatically) to off just like you showed. Now you have both on the same track, Scaler first, instrument second. Scaler will have the sound of your chosen instrument, AND wil;l be able to read midi you already put on the track, AND will write midi to that track. Seems far better this way, or am I missing something?
Hi guy's, i am on scaler 2 V. 2.7 but i have a problem with this setup, i cannot hear the vst instrument sound when i get into pattern suggestions, if i play on my midi keyboard i can hear my instrument but not when i am in the pattern mode. The instrument vst is the flute from the spitfire bbc orchestra discover, i have try moving to other octaves but still no sound but again playing on the midi keyboard is fine, any clue what is wrong here?

Is it possible to do this with a melody or arpegiated notes. When I try to record using this method it just records the individual notes. How can we tell Scaler to group them as a chord?

How do you route it to export midi notes to a virtual instrument track? For instance, I want to export an arpeggio from scaler 2 a midi, so that I can edit the midi afterwards. This is easy to do in Ableton Live and Bitwig, but I can't figure it out in Logic.
Will the 2.7 divisi or multi channel feature work with protools? Looking for a work around for Ableton live, studio one is fine and logic works great but my primary DAW is protools

I got the full version of scaler 2 running on the new iPad mini, for some reason when I use it in garage band and Cubasis 3 the keyboard icon/guitar icon is not present but if I launch scaler 2 stand-alone it’s there, any suggestions?
How do you play Native instruments sounds instead of the internal sounds of SCALER. I know you can drag the midi and do it that way. But I want to shape the sound whilst triggering the chords. SCALER 2 is a game changer. Love it
