A rare true classic because it was factual and memorable with relatable characters, that paid homage to the real life lives. Been watching the channel Bad Medicine watch the series. Its a timeless show that should be re run regularly on television
So you blokes together to see some. You all look grate. Although I didn't remember some of you, I've seen Band of Brothers times I can close my eyes and remember your voices. Wish some of us fans could be to the reunions, but we are all scattered all over. Loved the series and can still get it on Net flix, but that bloody thoughtless ass who that owns runs Netflix has now added adds to Band of Brothers. Many of us here in the States were furious over this. That was so irreverent. She buys represented WWII and winning that war which changed the course of history forever. And he poops all over it by adding irreverent ads to the movie. Hope to see you all in other venues at ther times. God bless you all.
He was part of greatness ! Not the centerpiece and he would be the first to say it ! There were thousands of Dick Winters and Herbert Sobel's though out the military , then and now . I served for 10 years Army and seen all of them ! I captained an Ice Hockey team and leadership is not a science or something you can look up to follow . Each situation comes up within seconds and minutes and you must have the right answer's right then , you can't hold it off until tomorrow or next shift ! We know about Dick Winters because of what he was able to do and do it constantly . Leaders don't have excuses , they find solutions ! My first year playing hockey , I was on a Championship team , nine years later , my last season , I captained a team that lost every game we played 0- 16 ? Go figure ? I was just as proud of that last team , and the effort we put in with what we had , as I was the Championship Cougars I played with that had all the talent. Winning is not important , it's the effort of winning that makes the wine taste better or bitter ? That was in the 70's and so am I now ! My reward ? The Hockey trophy or my military medals earned ? No ! I raised an Eagle Scout and our son earned a four year degree college . Good Job Pop Pop !
Very interesting to hear about your journey in the industry of music it’s a plus for us you have so much talent and passion about your music and your wonderful songs still Love you always 💞🥰🇨🇦🙏🎶
She said often in interviews that the big reasons she left The Waltons, was because 1. She thought that her character of 'Olivia' was too much of a caricature. 2. She was tired of Will Greer and Ralph Waite always mooning her (joke). 3. She objected to Richard Thomas's character replaced by another actor.
I thought of one of the Band of Brothers that said that he would get in bed on a real cold night and tell his wife that he’s glad he’s not in Bastogne. I can’t thank these men enough for the sacrifice that they made for us. 🇺🇸🇬🇧🇨🇦🇳🇿🇦🇺🇸🇭🏴
Love you Cameron! Glad to see you back on River City! You are a wee canny lad! I'm fae Easterhouse growing up and comedy got me out of a few tight spots 😉.... Yea girls fight too unfortunately. I'm not one of them thankfully but I can see the humour in the stupidity of it 👍😊
Honestly, when I first heard he would be in this, I was not all that excited but when you see Schwimmer's performance it really is brilliant. It would not have been what it was without Sobel being so captivating. Also, it is heartbreaking what happened to the real Sobel.
Just hearing the theme music still gives me goosebumps in 2024, there's something just very special and magical about the series, It was the greatest mini series of all time hands down and it's not even debatable
These men come from the greatest generation. Having served my country for 30 years. These warriors are who you want to be next to when your life is in danger. Warriors in combat and pure gentleman in life. The band of brothers is the ultimate tv of real war and the bond of combat and its real. Rest in peace men.
His his character in the series was surprising and for a person like me coming from a different perspective than most people, it made the character that much more awesome in the show. And played by pretty much the only person to play it. You see I hate Friends, I hate that goddamn show so much. I think it's unfunny and one of the most stupidest shows ever. I don't care if it was popular. So when David Schwimmer showed up in Band of Brothers, I was like "NOT THIS FUCKING GUY!". Then about 10 mins later it hit me, amd I thought it was perfect casting.
When Dick visited the set, the actors said when Winters looked up in the truck at those men, he was white faced. Most actors greatly resembled his brothers in arms. I can only imagine the flashbacks.
What a good man. They were all good men. He even took care of feral cats... “When I was kid, he would buy food and put out warm bedding for them in the winter. I never thought much about it at the time. After ‘Band of Brothers,’ he said to me, ‘Now you know why I feed the alley cats. I’ve been cold and hungry, and no one should have to feel those things. Not even a cat.’” (from his daughter, Trish)
Love the Waltons watched as a child, still watching as a 66 year old the repeats. All the characters on this show are wonderfully, my favorite was the mother and John boy and Mary Ellen. It's a comfort sitcom relaxes me, and keeps me going what ever is going on in my life, happy or sad.
Not only did Capt. Herbert Sobel jump into France on June 6, he along with 3 soldiers are credited with knocking out a German machine gun position. He also remained in France as long as the 506th did. Say what you will about what a bastard he was, and he was, the man did not lack courage under fire. RIP Sir and those Easy Co. guys came back to tell their stories because of your training and disipline you gave them.
According to Army records Capt. Herbert Sobel actually jumped into Normandy on June 6 and is credited along with 3 other men with knocking out a German machine gun position. He may have been hated by his men but the man assured most of them through his vigorous training and disipline that they had a shot at surviving the war. On top of that, the man did not lack courage under fire. He stayed in France as long as the 506th did and only came out after they were back in England. David was the perfect choice to play this man and nobody could've done it better.
