▶️ GOLDEN GUITAR - Great Rock Instrumentals of the '60s, '70s The best of The Ventures, The Shadows, The Spotnicks, Duane Eddy, The Tornados and many others - performed by me. The excellent backing tracks to my guitar recordings on this channel, were created by my friend Agoston Reiner (see below).
If RU-vid doesn't allow you to play "Walk Don't Run" then may I suggest substituting in "Walk Don't Run 65'" in it's place. I don't know how many versions of this song that the Venture's produced.
RU-vid does not ban different versions of the song, but the song itself. I played all the songs on this album in my own studio, which has been out of business for a few years now. It was not banned before and I uploaded this recording separately then. You can listen here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-V9_J2X2xKso.html Many thanks for your kind comment! Best wishes, Eugene
Sorry... This album not original release, I played these songs here myself and as wrote under video, the RU-vid does not allow to play the "Walk Don't Run" song on this album due to copyright. But you can hear this song on my video, here too: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-V9_J2X2xKso.html I wish all the best! Greetings from Hungary, Eugene www.eugenemago.com
The sound recordings , instruments back in 1960s was so much better than today's digital. I remember my dad had 2 LPs records which I played on my PYE gramophone. It was so delightful to hear.
I began playing guitar at age 12 and that was in 1962. I had no idea who the Ventures were at that time, but hearing them on the radio back then made me want to play just like them. So I started buying their albums and learned to play guitar by playing along with them. Playing music comes easy for me, so learning their licks was a lot of fun back then. I'm now an older man who still picks a mean guitar and The Ventures music never gets old. Bob, Don, Nokie, Howie and Mel are all gone now, but their music lives on in my soul and is still alive in my fingers. Gentlemen....you are the best ever guitar instrumental group in the world and I am a forever fan.
I was a big fan of The Ventures starting when Walk Don't Run came out. I bought about 35 or 40 of their albums until the early 70s. The songs here are not the originals. In fact, I suspect some aren't even done by The Ventures unless they re-recorded them but they're not as good as the originals so I doubt it's The Ventures for at least some of them.
Thank you very much for listening to the recordings. These are of course not the original Ventures recordings - as you can read on the album's cover and in the description below the video. I played all the tracks myself in my own studio. The songs on the album were all played by Ventures, I learned all the songs from their recordings. You can find the original Ventures versions of all the songs here on RU-vid too. I wish all the best, good health! Friendly greetings from Hungary, Eugene
Muito obrigado pela tua pergunta! Estou bem, graças a Deus! Espero que também estejas bem! Desejo-vos tudo de bom, sobretudo saúde! Com os melhores cumprimentos, Eugene
The Shadows have a more conservative sound alike many instrumental bands of the 50s & early 60s. Their music is very orderly with great use of echo, to say the least. On the contrary the Ventures are raw, spontaneous, more "rock" and the thing that no one noticed was that they were avant-garde in their sound ... until the Beatles. Since the beginning The Ventures never or extremely rarely used the echo or some of the old guitar gimmick sounds. The Ventures were raw, rough and ready with the natural guitar sound always at the forefront. A progressive rock and roll sound.
@@EugeneMago Thank you but it's because I'm Canadian and I only knew The Shadows after 1964 or 65. When I heard them for the first time I wasn't impressed because all the bands in those years (the 50s sound) had the same bland sound filled with echoes and trimolos.
Indeed, at that time the sound was quite uncharacteristic of the bands. I am Hungarian (77 years old) but in the communist world of that time, cut off from Western culture, it was a great experience to listen to this new kind of music, which rarely reached us, - what played by The Shadows, The Spotnicks, The Ventures, Duane Eddy and others. I still enjoy listening to and playing these songs to this day, and have even made many recordings in my own music studio: www.eugenemago.com Thanks again very much for your valuable comments. I wish you all the best, especially good health! Friendly greetings, Eugene
