Without any offensive intention, the juxtaposition between the masters "The Shadows" and "The Spotniks" is inappropriate, to say the least. While the former have been the forerunners of many instrumental groups, the latter, if we want to concede, have played as we used to play when we were young in parish halls. What else to say.

There is only good music and bad music. Both bands were the favorites of our youth. And both bands have good and less good songs. It's true that Shadows was a pioneer in the 3 guitar+drum lineup and his inimitable style...

I will answer you without any polemical spirit. To say that in the early '60s Spotnik were among the favorite bands is inaccurate. This band was definitely not on the level of the Shadows, The Ventures and many others. In those years I was starting to get familiar with instrumental pop-rock music. None of the young guitarists had The Spotnik as a model, unknown to most. It bears repeating: the Shadows, and in particular Hank Marvin, were the true masters.

I am Hungarian and here in Hungary "The Spotnicks" were extremely popular in the 60s and 70s. Of course, nobody disputes the extraordinary and epoch-making merits of Shadows in the field of instrumental music. This album is not intended to contrast the two bands. Here, in this album I'm playing the songs that we loved very much here, back then. All other aspects are a different world that I don't want to deal with.

Vous êtes un excellent guitariste, et les musiques que vous jouez sont géniales. Cependant, on croirait écouter les Shadows... C'est plutôt un compliment. Mais Il serait bien que vous y mettiez un peu plus de votre personnalité propre. Cela ne sert à rien de faire des copies conformes car ça n'a pas de valeur ajoutée.

Merci beaucoup pour tes mots gentils! Je suis vraiment ravie que cette collection vous ait plu. Par respect pour les grands groupes, je ne voulais rien changer aux chansons. (Dans ce cas, leur autorisation serait de toute façon requise). Mais j'ai l'impression que chaque chanson a aussi ma personnalité. En este álbum, me interpreto a mí mismo, tocando algunos de los grandes favoritos de mi juventud. No era mi intención compararlos. Ambas bandas crearon un nuevo estilo y para mí las dos fueron maravillas únicas.
