Knowing the outcome of this event, let’s hope young GMs will step up their games and challenge the older GMs like Magnus, then have their names on top of the leaderboard event after event. Much as I like to hear Magnus’ name being the winner…
@@epicchess2021 there are so many good Chess channels that somehow manage to do without this clickbait craze, like agadmator or many others. I will stop following just because of this.
Seems like Magnus got down early due to the silly opening but he kept finding moves that were at least OK throughout the game, while his opponent used up all his time and started having to make split-second moves. Then Magnus just pulled a Magnus and gradually came back to win.
id be super pissed going into the game to with the internet issues he was having, no time to refocus and settle in when you are stressing over getting internet back or get forfeited. Yea that was total bs. high stakes, high pressure and you have to deal with that. He was rattled coming back once his internet returned. you could tell.
If someone didn't watch this live, Alireza needed to beat Carlsen in two series back to back because he came from the loser bracket. I watched this live and it was incredible entertainment. Thank you for the cast it was very nice to revisit this match 🙂
it was post game 4 though, not the third, magnus was up 2-1 needed a draw, lost the fourth game, lost the first armageddon with white, lost the second one with black.
Thanks again for this content which I have really enjoyed 😊I've had mixed thoughts on this recent series of games between Carlsen and Firouzja, but I'll accept the results and shall process that Carlsen genuinely lost these games. Firouzja played brilliantly and showed what he's capable of, and that Carlsen can be beaten, all the while being under pressure. Moving forwards, I think the real testing of Carlsen and Firouzja is ahead when next they meet. Carlsen would know now that he made some faulty moves and that Firouzja plays excellence consistently, so, will Carlsen sharpen up and rectify his reputation?
@@epicchess2021 Thank you for your response. You make a good point of the two making great entertainment with their vs. matches. Previously I was thinking the special match was Carlsen-Nakamura, but I'm thinking someone might now be out of work 😁
