I wish you would do more videos on Harvey, how's he doing any updates etc. I love them but I have to disagree about using non-Honda fluids. On the packaging they may look better but with Honda you don't have to worry. All the additives are tailored to the specific type of systems in Honda vehicles. Not saying it will for sure, but it's possible that using another brand could cause premature wear to internal moving parts, O-rings, and gaskets. But I'm a Honda fanboy, I love using all Honda stuff lol.
Hey Harvey, Great video! Btw....did you also say something about a 20mm washer? I thought it was just a 18mm washer? Let me know at your convenience. Thx 😊
You should at least show what kind of antifreeze coolant brand you use…Honda dealership price is too expensive but what kind of aftermarket coolant you use😅😅😅thanks anyway
Thank you so much I was so distracted when I went to change the oil at Valvoline this morning and once I got back home I was so surprised the oil change status was still at 20% which has really destroyed my day I had not any Idea so I decided to do some research on RU-vid videos and I finally succeeded resetting the oil change light. Thank you so much your video was very helpful to me 🙏
I rate this video a 12/10 ! Transmission fluid change no jack or stands. Gonna do my first transmission oil change tomorrow ! This video has helped a lot
Hi Harvey, thx for this vid. When checking fluid level, you can do it with the engine off, right? Also, you never re-nappes your tranny and had no issues after changing fluid? Thx again.
About 2 months ago I sent it to the dealer for the fuel pump recall. While it was there they re-mapped the transmission. I can’t tell a difference but who knows. I do check it with the engine off but hot. Harvey has 107k (172k km) miles on him now and still going strong!
Very nice and thank you again! Mine has 151k km and also runs well. I’ve always taken the cvt fluid changes to an Acura dealer I trust, but I don’t think they do the tranny re-map. I will also need to look up this fuel pump recall, we don’t get the same good treatment in Canada as American Honda customers do.
I ran mine until the fans cycled 4 times. And it didn’t really burp at all. I had the heat on high full blast. Now after driving it and letting it cool down the coolant isn’t to the top of the rad cap, but I only have to add less than a shot glass of coolant and it’s at the top. Should I be worried or just run it?
Hi Harvey I have the same Honda hrv ex 2016 does the coolant fan comes on all the time in the winter. When I turned on the AC the fan trun on is that normal?
27 minutes? I did the job in 30 including going to NAPA, all I wanted to see is if there is a trick to getting the positive cable off since I am doing it in 6degree weather. I figured it out on my own. I have no patience for videos that don’t get right to the point. Instead of showing yourself figuring out what size socket to use, do that off camera.
I appreciate this video but can tell you’re really emotionally attached to this car. Prolly because of the stress and strain of that hurricane and how it was a link to your family. But don’t get too attached to a car. It’s a car. A machine. We take care of them and they take care of us but still inanimate! Just worried if you get too attached to a car and it get T-boned then what?
What are your thoughts on the 18” vs 17” wheels? We just got a 2020 with 18” wheels but I don’t like that the tires are so low profile. I’d actually rather have 16” wheels.
You have a lot better tire options with 16’s imo. I actually looked into an off road tire on 15’s. Just went with Michelin cross climate 2’s. Very happy with them so far.
I always wonder how much money you save with a cvt. You save some gas mileage but then you spend it all on the fluid and crush washers. I don’t know. Thanks for the video. I’m gonna do my wife’s at 30k.
Please don't remove the cover of that battery, for your protection, no service needed. My neighbor put water on that battery and it splash blinding his one eye.
My 2016 HR-V has a panel below the engine that is held on with 13 fasteners. Anytime I need to access the bottom of the engine it has to be removed first. I noticed your 2018 does not have this panel. Did you remove it or perhaps Honda discontinued installing it?
If you are not sure how to replace or service the battery DON'T MAKE A VIDEO....Obviously you don't know. You DON'T REMOVE THE POSITIVE BATTERY 1ST. YOU COULD HAVE DAMAGED THE CAR COMPUTERS by SHORTING/ SPARKS causing thousands of dollars in damages....
He remove the battery cover for nothing, no inspection necessary. Putting water on an acid battery can cause a splash and get into your eye. I don't like this video people might think its ok to put water on their battery.
Hi Harvey, have you changed the fuel filter on this car yet? if you have you got a video on it? mine is due, i think it is inside the tank not sure how to get access to it. thanks inadvance
