My bad if this is a silly question but I was looking at 308 gti's as my next car and was wondering if you could change the brakes on a 270 to brakes that you'll find on a 250 instead? Those brake prices are insane 🤣
@xiolage Sorry what do you mean, I know aftermarket options are cheaper than what Peugeot will charge but even then wouldn't it still be more cost effective? I'm still tryna learn more about cars especially this one so idk much about how difficult changing the setup would be
Just want to say thanks for giving me a tutorial in doing the roof liner as when I watched yours I drove 4 hours to purchase one for my ford kuga titanium i must say it now looks amazing mate Thanks your channel is amazing I watch it all the time as I use to own a focus a few years back now I get ideas for my kuga and again thanks for your help KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AS I SAY YOUR CHANNEL IS BRILLIANT 👏
How's it held up over the last year - any advice? i read we need to buy a condensation mat? struggling to find a waterproof encasement cover to fit the mattress though - 140cm x 240cm
We sold ours due to getting a van but it was fantastic while we had it. We just got some humidity/condensation packs and left them in there. Just grab yourself a comfy mattress to go in there as the standard one isn’t the best!
@@xiolage re the mattress - we read that people just added toppers or did you completely replace yours? sorry to bombard, hoping to get out in it this weekend and be comfy from the start
Enjoyed the video a lot! In the front you had the EBC yellowstuff pads? Thought the yellows werent suited for trackdays after they renewed the formula in 2021. Did you notice any fade?
I was super impressed with the yellow stuff, but think I’m going to swap to blue stuff next time purely so they don’t just chew through them in 1 day! 😂
@@xiolage yes, they seem way to soft for hard use in comparison to the OEM Ferodo DS Performance, or the DS2500. Going to order pads this week - cant decide between EBC bluestuff and Ferodo DS2500. At least Bluestuff is road legal🤷
I've you've done 3/4 of a pad, and they've ben over heating, then I'd definitely upgrade pads. The best I've used in other track cars are from PFC, although the dust will wreck wheels and they eat discs. DS 1.1 are good. And high temp fluid, ATE TYP200 or RBF600/660. I like ATE. It's not quite as high temp as RBF, but you don't have to change it as often.
Hi Mate, just wondering if that rear diffuser came stock but if not where did you get it? Looking for a duel exit for my mk3 and I can’t find any decent ones that don’t have the gap for the exhaust in the center (which I don’t want) if you could help me out that would be great ! Thanks
Can i ask how did u get the pistons out? Any tips before i begin? And How to clean the calipers? Brakleen? And the seals anything special installing them? 😊
To get the pistons out I quite literally pulled them out. The ones that were stuck I shoved a piece of wood in the calliper and pressed the pedal until they came out. Clean them with Brake/Parts cleaner! 😁
I have a citroen ds3 thp 1.6 156bhp timing chain always been an issue really like the 308gti but it also has a thp engine has the timing chain been improved?
Really like hearing that i think this will probably be my next car just looks nice and different like unique see golf r everywhere but I've not actually seen a 308 gti in the flesh
@@xiolageThanks for that, I have a 2008 mk3 - CarPlay (Android based) is very difficult to get working. Love the colour of your van and trim, mine has a very long way to go!
Qiestion re brakes mate- did you keep the Alcons and then replace the pads with ones from Godspeed? Was looking at changing the default pistons with the Godspeed ones as well.
Yep, I did film a video on this which you may find useful. Full GodSpeed stainless pistons and seals swap on the Alcons, and then GodSpeed discs and EBC pads front and back 😁
@@xiolage cheers mate. Price is a bit eye watering but I think they will be a great long term investment. The rear discs will really improve the overall aesthetics since I think the default rear brakes look a bit lacklustre.
Sounds so sweet mate. Do you know what options there are for getting more noise from cars with the OPF? It sounds great on cold start but once warm it gets a little quiet. I feel anything I do will just void the warranty lol😂
Great video, how did you remove the air vents trim pieces. I can get them off apart from one clip. Really feels like it's going to break. Any suggestions would be great, what did you use etc. Many thanks
Good update vid.Iv got the ebc blue stuff pads on my RCZ-R, they held up really well after very heavy breaking at Bedford and castle combe. Not much more than yellow. Also castrol srf fluid fluid lasted alot longer than the motul rbf 600. Expensive fluid but worth it.
@@Jozkah_ the Castrol srf brake fluid and motul is fine to use on your daily ( as mine is). With the motul I would do the track day, daily the car then if I did another track day it would be soft after only 3 laps at a time. So I started to change the motul fluid before every track day . The Castrol srf was solid through the track day and fine daily. It's much better at dealing with the heat. I plan to change the fluid once a year now, instead of multiple.
@@JamalPennant i do fast street so it’s the same principle, i’m pretty satisfied with stock brakes( ds2500 ), on my second set of OEM, only now deciding to upgrade the oil cuz i’m changing rear brake lines
Looks rad! I just ordered a set of coilovers myself! I am considering replacing the sway bar end links as they are stock and are bound to starting knocking- thought I would take care of it while down there.
Month ago a memory poped up on my Facebook from my 48 hours test drive of this beast from Peugeot ❤❤❤ The best 2 petrol tanks I've ever burned😂😂😂 What a machine such a mechanical feeling to it..I've hunted down everything in my view😊 Loved it🎉
Just a quick note; I will be doing an updates/thoughts/debrief as a separate video as this ended up at over an hour long! I have a lot of stuff to discuss and looking forward to filming it all and sharing. Stay tuned, It shouldn't be too long. 👀
Have you noticed a ticking noise that increases/decreases (depending on how fast your going) since you have fitted the godspeed front discs? I've also noticed it quietens down/stops the ticking noise when I apply the brakes (in my case) - presumably when the pads are making contact with the disk... I had my discs & pads fitted about 1-2k miles ago roughly, it's still noticeable in my case.
