I'm completely lost after 2:58 you cut to a different MSPlugin file with a WinRAR file named addon under it. how did you get that addon file? i don't see any thing in my MSPlugin file. I'm lost
I had another go at it and perhaps it's blender 4.1. But I can seem to control the volumetric scatter in water properly. It's always dark, no matter the number I use.
I actually added the options to adjust the matierlas in the 3d viewport from the panel. They later implemented that as well. Also that loading mechanism, they added that in their other added and so I added that to this one as well. I believe it's now in their as well. Still don't understand why they didnt do that from the start. Same as their population addon. When you use it, it feels like blender is crashing, but it's doing tons of work in the background. So I added the preload system again. I also improved the import time by 30-40% speedup
Wanted to add this to a scene I made for a different render engine I used together with blender. That engine is full spectrum and can do all materials and effects. I get a feeling this is again something added and than not finished. It seems it doesn't work together when you add volumetric scatter to the water. The volume settings act weird and even with 0.00001 8 get dark water. I did add it only on a mesh surface. Perhaps I need to make it a closed volume. But then I'm not sure if the caustics still work. Perhaps I need to use your other example you made a video about
Donyou know if the caustics option added in blender 3.2 actually works with water with volumetric scatter?. I used it on a single surface and get very dark water, no caustics any. Ore. Perhaps I should try an actually closed volume. Issue is the waves choppy surface i created. Not sure how to keep that only on the surface, perhaps a vertex group
Thank you so much. Blender is both fun and a lot to learn. But I like to play with it now and then. This was very helpful! I haven't tried it yet; and I will watch how you fix the image mappign several times before I try it myself! At least I know what you're doing! So, thanks again for that! This will make world building fun again! :-)
Thank you. My textures aren't loading when I download them from Bridge. The created material is blank, only a Principal BSDF but no textures. Any suggestions?
Thank you so much for a great explanation as well as the plugin on the website! omg this took me so long to get to work on blender 4.0. I appreciate the heads-up about what we may encounter when setting up the assets and materials as well. THX!
