Let me get this straight: Isopropyl alcohol is the same as methanol? So your forshots are actually isopropyl alcohol? I, as of yet, have not made any consumable or otherwise form of alcohol. It seems to be a big, huge waste of time considering anyone could purchase a large bottle of vodka for around 12 dollars at the state liquor store. Is the whole reason behind it being illegal centered upon the accidental consumption of methanol? As far as tax collection or the lack thereof; you would need an awfully big production facility to be able to turn over a worthwhile prophet. If you had that much money to invest to begin with, you would probably want to simply put get a license from the government. If it was still illegal, it may have been worth it for some rummy rum running Kennedy. Finding pure water for your home garden humidifier seems to be of a more self gratification endeavor provided you were not running amuck on some space alien catnip. Unless you're dwelling in the eight corners of the cube space time continuum universe, in which case you could simply put vaporize your enemies. Congratulations, you are the force of gravity.
I have one bucket of black grapes and one with white grapes, they have stopped bubbling after only a week. I did use a hydrometer. What should I do now
QUESTION,,, When ready to turn off the still I open up the valve in top of my pot. The fumes coming out are they flamable. Do I turn off the flame and open up the valve at same time? In oreder to avoid any accidents? thanks.
Glad to see you here again George! 😀 Greetings from Norway and thank you so much for your videos. Everything i learned i learned from you and im still destilling and it just keeps getting better 🤤
I Know this video is old but it seems the only one i can find with what I am looking for and I hope you are still answering questions. After you wait the 10 days do you need to still sugar wash or can it be used as is. I am not looking for anything flavorful I am just looking for something I can use to make Tinctures. has to be 80 proof and above
You really should think of doing some shorts videos with your mash technique. Obviously, you wouldn't be able to go into much detail, but you could hit the highlights with the process. If you have the basics down, it is easier to fill in the blanks and build on the process. Thanks again for the videos. We definitely appreciate the hard work you are doing.
I know this video is 4 years old but i still have to say this. The plugs that are shown at 11:30 are all correct, but do not get the second and third mixed up with there 120v cousins that looks almost identical. What he showed are the 120v 15a 5-15P, a standard american outlet. The second is the 6-20P which is identical to the 5-20P except there flat and virtual blades are reversed. The third is the L6-30P which look identical to the L5-30P except the L6-30P is slightly larger. x5-xx is 120v, and x6-xx is 240v. When making and using these plugs double check that you are using the correct one for the intended voltage.
Hey George big fan thank you for your insights. I need your help after following you on this vid my PID inkbird is still not working. I have the same volt display as you do on this vid and it reads 244v and 12 amps my pid shows only 100% power at the start then tapers off when my SV is reached but the iout put light on the PID is on the power is at 0% but my volt meter is showing 11 amp and 245v and if i understand my burner is still getting power as my volt meters round thingy has only one wire from my burner going through it. so how do i get this PID to turn off the power if its saying 0% ? please help
Wow George! I am about to make my first batch of whiskey, and your explanation of the process is in depth and informative! Especially for someone like me that likes to know all the intricate details… Really enjoying these videos!!!😊
Hey, I'm new here and I wanted to know if my batch of wine is any good. Because I forgot to put water in my airlock on the first day. I didn't realize it until the third day. And after stirring and placing the lid back on it smelled like eggs. Thanks for sharing!!
George. Doubt you’ll ever get this but if you do 🤷♂️. Wish you would continue with your videos. Even if you’re retired from retail. Just keep passing on your knowledge for posterity 🤷♂️. You’re a phenomenal teacher. I know there are others out there that attacked you. I saw it in a forum and I just for the life of me couldn’t understand the hostility. The one thing I absolutely did notice, was how the guy they “recommended” was more like a quantum physics professor 🤷♂️😂😂😂😂. After awhile I began to consider the idea that they didn’t want you teaching people because you support the side of simplicity. You talk and teach people in a manner that everybody can do this, kind of like cooking 🤷♂️. Where their idea is to turn people’s views into “this is magic” and you shouldn’t tamper with it if you aren’t educated and trained in it. This to me seems like a convenient way to eliminate any possible future competition and turn spirit making into an “elites” only trade 🤷♂️😈. Sorry for the rambling but I just truly hope you see this and start making videos again 😔
Here's a tip if low temperature is a problem. I'll hang my heating pad that I use for my back on the side of the primary fermenter and wrap a towel around it. The gentle heat will slowly raise the temperature and kickstart fermentation.
Enjoying ur videos from Norway..would love to make myself another nice still, but since I'm European I struggle with this damn inches hehe 😂 1/8 inch hole saw to make hole for the heat element.. Tried to convert it to mm..but I got 3 mm..that can't be right.. must be 30 mm??
