Мне показалось, что парус для данного ветра слишком большой и левый ауттригер (поплавок) полностью ушёл под воду. Опасное плавание! Но сама конструкция смотрится великолепно.

I like your home made mast support. Also what are you using for carry handles? I have gone through a few and Hobie replacements are getting harder to locate.

Thanks for a helpful video, I just bought one of these (craigslist, $1500 !!) and now I know what to rig and check. I see the masthead float was not used, maybe I'll leave it off since I'll be sailing in a shallow marsh at first. I just need to invent a technique for getting the hull onto the ground from the bed of a pickup.

A Island trimaran is more like having a kayak with a sail there great for fishing not so much for racing or purely sailing if you want to eventually get another sailboat ide go with bravo or a hobie wave if you want to use it for just sailing

The Hobie Bravo is a great boat. As far as I'm concerned, it is the best small sailboat you can buy, for many reasons. It is a very tough boat. There's not much that could break on this thing, as the design is very simple. The only thing that can really break is the rudder, but the rudder, again, is a very simple design and very strong. I have never had any problem with it at all. My boat is a 2006 model, and I have owned it for about 10 years. I have not made one single repair. I have not even had to change the lines, and they are still the originals, in great shape. I don't know what you mean by they are more expensive. Are you talking about the purchase price? If you buy a brand new boat, they can be expensive. However, if you can find a used one, you will save a lot of money. The resale value on these boats is very low. This boat is not very popular, so they sell cheap used. Also, most people don't sail them much. So used boats are usually in like new condition. Regarding being wet, I disagree. Of course you will have to put camping gear in water proof bags. but it's really just the deck of the boat that gets wet. For example, when I'm sailing in strong winds or rough conditions it is only my butt that gets wet. The boat sits quite high in the water, higher than most any other small sailboat I can think of. I usually just put my gear in garbage bags, and fix it to the mast stay. I fastened some cleats on the mast stay for that purpose. In summary, I find this boat to be quite dry, and not a wet ride. You even see in my videos where I carry pillows and books with me. I have sailed lots of different boats over the years, and this is the best small boat, as far as I'm concerned. This boat is VERY underrated. What I mean by that is that it should be way more popular than it is, but that just means that you will be able to get a used one at a lower price. Here in America, even used kayaks sell for way more money than a Bravo. Kayaks are all the rage. That makes no sense to me...The Bravo is way more fun.

@@hobiebravosailing7815 thank u so much for your quick and detailed reply,it made me happy to get all those usefull infos. when i said more expensive and more wet ride,i refered to the adventure island.i have very little sailing knowledge, lots of theory and almost zero practice.i prefer the bravo, but the adventure island is more stable and impossible to flip over.the bravo can flip over easily when u have no experience,or what do u think. but they say the bravo is very easy to learn. very difficult for me to decide between the two boats,i would prefer the bravo, but maybe i should get the adventure island ,for more stability and no flip over???? u agree??or u think a beginner can learn quick to avoid flip over??? sorry for my bad english, and happy new year!!!! i have your abo, ofcourse, and waiting to see more bravo videos,i love the bravo!!!!but maybe the adventure island is better for me??? i am planning two buy a used bravo or AI in florida(craigslist)and do camping sailing for 3 or 4 weeks, tell me,where is your residence

@@ralfnorenberg3130 Firstly, flipping over should not be something you fear. On a 12 foot boat, it is very easy to right again. In fact, one of the very first things you should do is flip the boat purposely, so that you will not be afraid of it. I did this with my 13 year old daughter. I was teaching her to sail the boat by herself. I told her to go out and flip the boat on purpose. She was afraid of doing that; but when she came back to shore she had a big smile on her face. She said that, to her surprise, it was actually fun flipping. She enjoyed it so much that she flipped it a second time. She said that it also surprised her how difficult it was to flip. It took her several attempts. She really had to work hard to get it to go over. Please note, the only time it is easy to flip a small boat, and that goes for any small boat, not just the Bravo, is when you jibe. Jibing is where you really have to be careful. When a boat flips while jibing, it will happen so fast that you will not even see it coming. You will blink, and next thing you know, you are in the water wondering what just happened. Again, it's not something you should fear; just learn the proper way to jibe. Secondly, the Bravo is not easy to flip at all. The Hobie 16 flips very easily, with very little warning; however, the Hobie Bravo is not like that. It flips very slowly, almost like slow motion. You really have to want to flip it. I have been sailing mine for many years, sometimes in heavy winds, and I have NEVER flipped it, not even once. I wear glasses, so I don't want to flip, as I will risk losing them. Believe me, this boat is very stable. The Bravo is the perfect sailboat to learn on; and, not only that, you will want to keep it for life, it is so much fun.

Thanks for the setup video. I'm looking into getting my first small hobie for some east coast bay sailing. I'm considering the Bravo for my first. Love the simplicity of the setup, seems great for beginners.

@devwreck Honestly, you can't go wrong with a Bravo. They are so much fun, can sail in all conditions, and are VERY easy to set up and take down. I have had several different sailboats, and the Bravo has been my favorite. In a nice breeze, I have gotten up to a little over 10 mph, which feels really fast on a sailboat. Also, it can hold a lot of weight. I used to sail with my wife and two children onboard, that's approximately 450 lbs., with no problem. My favorite thing about the boat is that it has a perfect platform for taking a nap. You can see that from the video about my homemade shade canopy. Whenever I'm ready to take a break from sailing, I go back to my car to pick up my blankets, pillow, and canopy; I sail over to an island, and then just chill with a book. With a canopy overhead to keep the moisture off, you could actually camp with this boat overnight. I am planning to do that soon, myself. Take care...
