So, i have a quote from a local remediator in the Tampa area and the guy came by to look at the house and what he thinks he'd need to install before i watched this video. But after i received the quote i asked him about PFE testing and his reply was "No, that pressure field testing doesn't provide much info for slab on grade, no basement, typical Florida soils that we have in this area." Does this make sense to you or is it a red flag?
Jessie excellent, step by step video of how to install. Really enjoyed it. This is helpful to decide what Radon mitigation contractor to hire and the questions to ask. Particularly interested with how to drill the test holes and then how the suction actually works. I have decided that the noise suppressor is definitely worth it. Shorter videos are great but you really needed a video of this length in order to show the entire job from start to finish. 😇

I just put a extra long bit on the hammer drill and use the jack hammer function to lose up earth... its incredibly effectivie. I did several cubic meters.in a afternon once
As always, thanks for the great content for us DIY homeowners. Out of curiosity, why not use the sump pit as a suction point in this case, too much complexity dealing with the water/variable air flow? I’m considering adding a second point to my sump pit that’s across the house from my main suction.
Thank you. We avoid using the sump as a suction point in most cases. In this case, the sump basket only has perforations to allow water to seep in. You could only move a little air through a perforated sump basket compared to one with perforated pipe(s) entering it. Here's what the radon standards say about sump covers as suction points. Awesome video, love the content - so the stitching is just an open tunnel back to suction point that you dug/connected through a series of holes? Any concerns of integrity of the foundation removing that much material?
Yes, that's correct. The concert floors in Minnesota are not structural like the footings, so removing that much soil is not a concern. The 3.5-inch concrete slab can easily bridge the tunnel.

PVC cement makers highly recommend to chamfer the pipe too. If you don't, a sharp edge remains and will scrape most of the cement off as you say. Nice video! Thanks!
We typically don't draw through the sump cover. Instead, we locate the drain tile with a sewer camera, core through the concrete floor, and tap into the drain tile system’s perforated piping below the slab. It does not damage the foundation. The concrete floors here in Minnesota are nonstructural, but that might not be the case in other areas. For instance, some homes have post-tension cables that run through the slab. Hitting one of those cables can cause it to violently rip out of the slab, which could be deadly-or so I'm told anyway.
Great videos but I can't find any videos for venting a daylight/walkout basement (here or anywhere on RU-vid). Going through the attic or even into the garage and through the roof would be a real pain and not DIY friendly. any suggestions?
I have had a handful of customers get or pass away from lung cancer. Their doctors suspected radon as the cause. However, I'm not sure how they came to that conclusion. Some people have told me that several of their pets have passed away over the years and that their vet somehow suspects radon.
