My favorite saying was the title of a video Alan did for Leica was "The Liberation of Limitation". Working with your equipment constraints and exploiting them. I have ditched my camera bag with multiple lenses in it or as a female photographer once said, "My insecurity bag" To get into the Schiller mindset, you have to have both discipline and creativity. One camera, one lense, and doing it in monochrome. Having limitations makes you a more creative photographer.
Thanks for the great tutorial - even though I am a rural shooter - the same principles apply. Using my new used Leica Q2 Monochrom exclusively when I go out each morning for my exercise walk has greatly improved my skills and photos. A complete mind set change and all for the better. It is all about going back to the basics of what makes a great image. Practice, practice, and more practice is required, but when you look back, you smile at the improvement in our photos that you see.
Yes you got it.... Practice practice practice and you will see great improvements. I'd love to see the images that you have captured with your lecia come and post them in the Facebook group
@@roni_sidhu We don’t need more, we need you to make my pictures as good as yours 😉

Hey Roni, thanks for you video. After watching it, I went out and shut in B&W, and loved it. It really gives an interesting experience all together, with a different perception on the composition and pop out elements that are more difficult to see in full colors. So, I switched my camera to shut b&w by default with raw+jpeg 🙏🏻
I am very interested to see your end results and would also love to see what else you come up with using these techniques. Make sure to joining The Photography Club community and post you photos - facebook.com/groups/1875895529497214 - I look for ward to seeing them all.

Nice instruction. For my painterly style, I enjoy it a bit more “atmospheric” (hazy) and a bit more muted. The last adjustment you made to exposure was a little too much for my tastes. Thanks Roni! Geoff
Glad you enjoyed the video and picked up some tips. Everything that I do is just as a guide, make adjustments as you see fit. I love love to see your end results in the community. Come and post your images.
Roni I subscribed to your channel. I’m pretty good with LR but you shown me something I was not aware of. I have some image to practice your technique with. Thanks
Roni- I agree with the other comments about your teaching skills, your style choices, LR tools, and workflow! Very effective and not too fast. I can follow the cursor. I didn’t hear you say it, but your choices are often for amounts of change or effect. It might help to say that, but it’s a small point. I’ve subscribed so I can follow future videos. I use my iPhone, a Fuji XT5, and a Leica Q2M- all effective in B&W. Thanks very much! Geoff
Glad you enjoy my teaching style. I tried to go at a normal pace so that everyone can follow along easily and understand what we are doing. A lot of the LR tutorials that I see are very fast leaving a learner frustrated. Come and join the community and post up your images, I would love to see them
Sir, you are an admirable teacher thanks to your clarity and your concern for how students are receiving information. I have been involved in teacher training for over forty years. The university could easily replace me and substitute your videos as exemplars. What a pleasure to see you use effective communication techniques.
Thank you for your wonderful comment, I really appreciate your time and honesty. I have never gone through any training at all I just enjoy sharing my knowledge and teaching people and I guess that shows. make sure to come and join our community
Love this video, thank you. Could I request a landscape edit with the same method, would love to see how that turns out, especially with the pastel greens? Thank you ❤
I love street photography. As an armature black female street photographer I learn as much as I can. Black and white is the best street photography in my eyes.
What an inspiring video! Thank you, Roni for the clear, concise directions. I never felt overwhelmed. Your teaching style is outstanding. Applause! Make that a standing ovation.
Love the shots but comm b from someone who occasionally gets migraines I couldn’t look into the sun for long and you had a lot of backlighting … I struggled to watch it all … but London is just fantastic for street photography! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the tutorial. I rarely use B&W, but I will try it next time I am out with my camera. I love it around Paternoster Square, especially Pret 😂 I guess these modern buildings are a result of the second world war bombings and the redevelopment of the land.
Glad you enjoyed the video and I hope it inspires you t get out there and take some photos yourself. Make sure to join the Facebook group and share your photos. Link under the video
May I ask how did you learn to take such beautiful photos? I think I take good photos of things or people but they aren't photography level good. This photo was beautiful it looked vintage. Is there any tips you could give to a beginner with a phone?
With this type of photography it's all about the contrast with light and shadow, and then training your mind to look for shapes. Practice practice and practice, look at other photographs work and ask yourself what makes that photo great for you? Look at your own work and ask how it can be improved. Watxh my full videos as you will see how I work and I share some tips. Come and join the Facebook group as you will learn more there and find out about workshops.
