Employees are totally separate from PST. For some products/services, the business has to collect PST from the client and then pay it forward to the provincial government. Employees aren't involved in the PST equation at all.
@@magnaltusconsulting I guess I’m more so just wondering because I noticed on my paystub recently that I’m not being charged pst, and just wanted to make sure that’s correct. Not very good with this stuff yet
@@shayleelucyshyn3748 You'll never see PST on your pay stub. Your pay stub will have EI, CPP, Provincial Income Tax, and Federal Income tax. PST is between the business and the client since it's a sales tax.
Great explanation on bookkeeping! Many people scramble at year-end to find receipts, missing deductions or recalling expenses. Staying up-to-date and summarizing records for your accountant often costs less than handing over a "box" of receipts for them to go though.
