Acknowledged as one of the premier talk shows in the history of television, The Merv Griffin Show ran daily for some 25 years - from October 1962 to September 1986. Over the course of that time, a massive archive containing thousands upon thousands of hours of footage with over 5,000 guests joining Merv. All footage from The Merv Griffin Show is represented for licensing by Reelin' In The Years Productions. www.reelinintheyears.com
It started out awkwardly then substituted acting and mere quotation for self-expression and honest thought -- plus, it was obvious he was reading a cue card, so it was staged. Weak.
One of the biggest pieces of shit of all time. Just a guy in the right place at the right time. Chose to lie and go along. He along with LBJ needed a good old fashioned ass kicking in public. My gut tells me that they totally framed Nixon because he threatened them.
Jerry's just soaking it in, tryna be all gangsta like Sinatra. Never knew that Pryor idolized him. Just goes to show a kid will still love and want to please his father even if he is an abusive pos by liking the same stuff he likes. Pryor had a s@#tty childhood, horrible. Probably started by trying to make his father laugh and gain his love that way. So many comics have the most appalling upbringings. Love Richard Pryor ❤
Wonderful and historic footage. It's a shame it is owned by a company that is determined to let very little of it be seen by the very people who would enjoy it. It is marketed like an infomercial, complete with logos and intrusive graphics. Reelin' in the Years should be mindful of the cold hard reality that this vintage material has a shelf life: while there are folks alive now who would watch and enjoy this classic footage, future generations may not have much interest. Why? Because they will have no connection to these (by then) long dead stars, and more significantly, it's in BLACK & WHITE! Young people have no interest in anything that is not digital HD and full color! This is not conjecture on my part - it's just a fact. Doubt that? Ask around.
I met this version of the band when they rented my Rhodes on a fly date. Had no idea at the time who Vince Gill was. They were a nice bunch of blokes though!
I'm 80 years old but this 70s compilation makes me feel like I'm 20 again! I couldn't help but sway to the rhythm! 🎶A lot of the songs take me back to specific places and people I was with at the time.😘
