Tony Griffin shows us a custom tooled-leather director's chair given to his father Merv Griffin by his dear friend John Wayne. There's also some clips of the Duke on the Merv Griffin Show back in the 60s.
Dear Tony: I had the pleasure of meeting your dad at his BH home where he had a college graduating party for his niece. This was back in (I am guessing here) 1983. Merve had a small band up on the hill behind his beautiful home playing for the guests. He gave me a tour of his library and it was amazing; fulled with treasures from the who's who in entertainment and politics. He was so warm and charming. My wife and I still remember that evening fondly. Glad to see you have some videos of your dad here. Regards, Bob Carter, Oceanside, Calif
Tony, I started going to your father's shows in 1964 in New York when I was 12 (but looked 16 so I could get in). Also attended many a show at the Hollywood Palace and lastly at CBS Television City in the 80s. Remember Mrs. Miller? Thanks for the memories!
