I have the same problem as you are, thanks this video provide me help a lot, the problem is I don't pay attention to details as you were, but thanks Man.
How was the result? I can't imagine you'd get enough light with that tiny is tiny objective lens. Even with my regular lens wide open F 1.8 sometimes there's not enough light
If only they sold film rolls with much longer strips(compared to the actual ones we have like approximately 144 frames) in public than they’d be more likely to have the camera work much faster on its own even when cranking it.
Great work! I Love photo and movie restoration. New Tools are always coming along to help. I have lots of small frame film and trying to get best work flow figured out.
Awesome you went through the trouble of doing this experiment and making a video why didn't you use some QUALITY film to show us all what is possible with this contraption- lol - Do you know of any way to extend the footage of the film for longer runs? This is a great project !
I feel I have to point out that most online converters say approx 580 rpm equals 10 fps and not 19 fps as stated in your video? I am looking to use a 540RPM motor that will allow me to shoot 9 fps on my Lomokino, I plan on doubling the speed in post production to make it 18fps for that silent film look. Obviously any action I shoot will be of actors using minimal movement. By doing it this way it will also allow me to save on the cost of using less 35mm film cartridges and making sure nothing breaks inside the camera ;)
@@zekthedeadcow Thanks Sam I will be sure to provide you any knowledge I learn along the way. One things for sure it will be a learning curve and a lot of fun.
friend of mine is 3d printing parts so it can take a lens, be motor driven and take a magazine. I find it kind of a waste of money but cool nonetheless. How would one recast the parts in metal?
hey!! i've been all day looking for a way to figure out if i can make some 3d printed lens mount for this baby... how can i see your friend's work and progress? i'm really really interested!!!!!! please helpppppp
Thanks for this video. I had students drop mIne and found the shutter not working. Do you know what the two wires that run two the metal connections on the inside are for?
But the magic smoke could have entered the timer mechanics and tied the balance wheel up in tiny knots, making it jam up. This timer model must have some type of magic smoke filter fitted
