Halogen ovens in my opinion beat air fryers. I've had one getting on for 20 years now, I think in that time we've gone through 3 of them. And they cook chickens beautifully. I also placed my chicken upside down for the first half hour, then finish it off right side up. Another thing I like to do is remove the skin in one piece after cooking, then place it back in for a few minutes to brown it even more, and it turns in to really thin but really tasty crackling.
Thank u mate! I was looking for videos using the same exact over on how to make roast pork with crackling. Wish me luck, i am trying it right now 🥰❤️ much love from South Aussie
Hint I rub hot English mustard into the skin as well as salt? You will not taste the hot mustard but what you will taste is no oily greasy crackling not too much but a fair amount of mustard
As you have gone to the trouble of giving the temperatures in Fahrenheit (for US), you may as well give pounds/ounces as well, could give you new subscribers over there.

I've just unboxed mine, supposedly a 12l/17l halogen oven - took me 10 minutes to realise the metal construction apparently part of the frame of the cooker was just that. A 5 litre extension ring! 😲
Thank you for this recipe. I wish there were more recipes on RU-vid for the halogen oven. There is so many electric pressure cooker(instant pot) and air fryer recipes. There needs to be more halogen oven recipes. I want to start using my halogen oven more.
I bought mine today - haven't opened it yet, what sort of cookware is suitable - I am very limited. In some views I see a lot of cooking done with the use of foil. Is that more to keep the oven clean, or a necessity in some types of foods being cooked? Please advise.
Should have self cleaning option - add 100 ml of water and let it run for 10 mins on 'thaw' menu. If it really is dreadfully dirty add a little washing up liquid. Do you need to be told not to put cold water into the thing when it is hot? Be spectacular if you do but really, don't. Wait til it's cold.
The string should be removed before cooking to allow the heat and air circulation between the legs, wings and body this gives a more even cooking and ensures that in these gaps the meat is cooked.
i dont preheat. i cook on a non stick halogen pan on 180c. I cook it for one hour on then i add roast potatoes and parnsips. so by 90minutes you have a lovely roast chicken with cooked veg.
you do have to preheat if the device is new. then clean it before using it the first time bc ofcourse there might be toxic fumes involved when using it the first time.
I make yogurt, cottage, and cream cheese in mine. You can make Melba toast from a whole loaf of sliced bread in about 50 minutes. And so much more! See how... winningrecipesblog.blogspot.com/2017/07/how-to-use-electric-wok-or-frying-pan.html
