Excellent breakdown and fix video. Thank you. What is the name of the product you used to seal the bottom of the rods on/ in the housing? Trans 17? Also... what did you re-fill the top of the blue housing with? The brown filled.... epoxy?
Hey Tino! Happy to see you back, even if it's with your previous boat. Quick question for you: someone recommended that I drain some water from the freshwater/seawater system in my engine (Volvo Penta 2030) and pour vinegar through the seawater strainer for the winter. They mentioned it helps dissolve barnacles and clears the holes for heat exchange giving a better freshwater/cooling fluid exchange in the new season. Then, I should clean the system thoroughly with a hose from the seawater strainer, preventing airlocks, before launching. What do you think of that advice? Would love to hear your thoughts!
I once tried to fill my toilet with vinegar and all the rubber parts swelled up within a short time, so I don't think you should let the system stand with vinegar for the winter. Regarding prepping the system with water, it can be a good idea to prevent airlocks the first time you start up the engine.
as a new 2003 Bav 32 owner, I cant get enough of your videos! THANK YOU! do you happen to have the part number for the heat exchange cap. My cap is rusting and I would like to change it out with a new cap and a new seal. Thanks!
Cool video . Thanks for your tips and advice . Is it possible to make a sock or snuffer to cover the furled genoa so the sail doesn't get affected by the strong UV deterioration ?
Hi Tino, tnx for the infos, with your advice I was able to get my transducer in normal range but now the value doesn’t fluctuate over temperature changes, it is always between 23,5 and 24,5 C, while actual sea temp is between 16 and 27 C. Do you think I have to replace my thermistor?
When a impeller blade is broken off it will be sucked into the system and then floating around infront of the heat exchanger. But I think a lot of broken impeller blades must be present to make a cooling problem. No blades in the system is of course most optimal.
Thanks. This saved my summer trip. :D I've had the boat for 4-5 years and haven't thought about the roller bearings at all, until my sail jammed and wouldn't roll up.
Hi Tino! It looks like your boat is a Bavaria, maybe a 38? Mine is a 38, from 2002. I believe my leaks are in the seal to the lens. Have you ever just replaced the gasket within the portlight frame to the lens? Would you just use acetone to clean off the place where the old gasket was? Thanks for this video. It seems straight forward, even if it takes time and effort.
Hej Tino. Efter at have motoren kørende i 5 minutter, viser oliepinden igen for meget olie! Mvh. Thomas.
Hi Tino I dont know how to thank you for all the videos you have uploaded.I have a bavaria 30 cr & Volvo penta MD2020 same as yours. All engine maintenace can be done by myself by following your amazing videos, everything is brlliantly explained and everything is very clear, many thanks for your videos , I was successful on repairing the hour meter as well, thanks again!
Thanks! My i40 speed/temperature transducer read about 20C high. The i40 does not have the temp calibrations, so I'll need to fine select a resistance value. I plan to add the resistor pigtail at the unit plugs for the brown and white wire.
I see many comments here as in this video where the entire hub assembly was replaced. This is expensive and not necessary as there is a Volvo replacement hub insert available but not listed by Volvo for this prop. It is like they are purposely hiding the replacement hub insert and list it for a different prop all together. Remove/replace inner splined hub $400 vs $1021 for a new hub assembly from Volvo. Also, the new hub assembly does not work with older prop blades as they changed it ever so slightly so you have to buy new blades as well. Leave it up to Volvo!
Vielen dank.

I've gone through 2 hubs in 6yrs - the rubber inset moves and causes increasing vibration. No-one will replace the insert even though the part is available.
@twiper just bought myself a bavaria 32, and pretty much have the same issues as you are fixing in your videos. They really help alot! Thanks for charing!
