Hello I was wondering if you are growing pokeweed as an ornamental plant or making pokeweed ink. The berries are poisonous if consumed by humans or animals. The plant next to your cucumbers is what I asking about.
Ms. V, thank you for that great information!! Now, it will help me decide which one to grow in my garden. Thanks Ms. V and Keep Up the fantastic work!!❣️🙏 👍
It is my first time on your channel and I have just subscribed. Your garden is looking greatThank you so much for sharing. Keep up the good work. Happy belated Birthday. All the best on this journey.
Fantastic beautiful tour and all great tips. Definitely get all the fruit trees and food you like eating into the ground today. Have an amazing weekend Ms V
Your collards garden is very beautiful ❤ When they “shoot up” in the center like that, it is due to stalk development cuz it wants to go to seed like you said. With collards - I don’t want this, as i want leaf development. That’s why I feed high nitrogen to grow big luscious leaves. As soon as that center stalk shoots up, it generally means a decline in the overall quality (taste and toughness) of the collards due to changes within the plant with it trying to complete its life cycle.
Yes okay 👍, I allow 10 of my plants to go seed out of 24 collard plants, I just cut all the collard greens back today 5-28-2024 Now harvesting seeds to harvest and dry besides 2 or 3 plants and I will watch my collard greens regrow and reshape back up for fall and winter. Happy growing season to you 2024💛💛
Your video has been the most helpful!! So many videos I’ve come across pulls their plants out and replant new ones. I love your advice to let it do its thing and come back but take care of it till it’s time to come back! Love this video!!
It only lasts for a while… It is nature for the plant to want to put off seeds and complete its lifecycle. By pinching off the flowers, all you are doing is temporarily stopping it from going to seed and what happens is you get smaller and less quality collared leaves. For me, it would be worth it to have several other plants planted in succession to get a continued harvest of quality leaves.
I'm planting a garden this year for exercise and of course FOOD. My question to you is how do you keep bugs off your plants, your garden is BEAUTIFUL. 🙏❤
Thank you.. I don't use know bug spray or pesticides, I had pick bugs off and discard them in a empty jar and ad water and vinegar to it and keep it outside by garden, so when you Inspect your plants , just off the bugs and drop it in the jar.
Very inspiring video thank you! I am getting everything together now. I have never grown nothing but that's what it have came to. So I decided to just concentrate on Collars for now. I do have other seeds but that's my focus for now. I love Collard greens and they healthy. So, like you say if I have to eat the same thing everyday collard greens it will be. Thanks for that message God Bless You. Zone 5b Michigan
