I grew some in my garden several years ago and even 10 degrees (F) won't kill them. Walter Reeves from WSB said they were not any good after they "bolt." So thank you from Henry county for the info on removing the seed heads and let them keep growing.

Very inspiring video thank you! I am getting everything together now. I have never grown nothing but that's what it have came to. So I decided to just concentrate on Collars for now. I do have other seeds but that's my focus for now. I love Collard greens and they healthy. So, like you say if I have to eat the same thing everyday collard greens it will be. Thanks for that message God Bless You. Zone 5b Michigan

Yes, if you don't need seeds, remove all the flowers on top of all your brassicas, so maybe do 1 or 2 of each brassicas, collard greens, broccoli, cauliflower brussell sprouts, it will save you money and time and allow you to have on going green vegetables..try it and keep me posted ❤

It only lasts for a while… It is nature for the plant to want to put off seeds and complete its lifecycle. By pinching off the flowers, all you are doing is temporarily stopping it from going to seed and what happens is you get smaller and less quality collared leaves. For me, it would be worth it to have several other plants planted in succession to get a continued harvest of quality leaves.

Yes it would that's why I let 10% or 15% of my collards go to seed and leave the rest of the collard greens for daily dinner meals.

Probably, I just started my dinnasour kale from seeds, so I will experiment, every one around the world, we just have to try and make our gardens work for us and see test the limits of each plant or herbs, vegetables and fruits, what might work for 1 might not work for someone else, much love in you garden ❤
