Hi, I'm Jo. This is just a place to share some of the crafty stuff I make, and share any of the cool books, bits and bobs that I find out Op shopping (Thrifting) and eventually maybe the odd idea or two. Total Newb to this You Tube thing but never know until you give it a try, Am I right? Wish me luck haha.
I LOVE Lucie Atwell illustrations, but it’s hard to find her books in the US at a price that I can afford for junk journaling. I don’t recall having Annuals of magazines as a kid. The Jack and Jill annual is very cool. Maybe annuals weren’t a US thing, either.
Lovely books Jo - I went to a book fair last weekend and walked out with nothing - we rarely see anything old around here. The Hampton Court one is lovely - I’m hoarding it!!! Although I have made a couple of little fold out thingys from it. 😊
Thanks for watching and your constant support😊❤. Glad I've finally done these flipthroughs so I can start using some of the pics and maybe scan some of my faves too
I’m watching - very cool I have my mothers and grandmothers albums - couldn’t take the pics out though. Those black corners will be good to use. OMG those cabinet cards I absolutely love Cabinet cards somehow they are so special.
Thanks Pauline, yes Cabinet cards are so fabulous, I'm super stoked with that album. Got to make sure to use the album pages as well, Kate has used them before and they look so good 😊❤
Oh my word, Jo! What an amazing find. I immediately switched from my phone to my big tv to watch so I could see every lovely detail! So many beautiful ladies …and those sailors! Thanks so much for sharing❣️ Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Yay you are back. 💕💕 I love watching your haul videos. Oh my gosh that is so so beautiful. I love all the scraps in there. you might have to steam the back cover ones off. xxx
Gosh I love books! Pre-WWll the swastika was considered a good luck symbol- forever it had been. Then after the war it was taken over, giving it the bad connotations it has today. I think I saw the publication date as 1923? If so, that was before the swastika 'went bad.' Thank you for sharing everything- you found some great treasures!
So many don't realize the true meaning of this beautiful symbol. Found in many cultures of the world. What a shame that Hitler tarnished it with racist connotations. The word "swastika" in Sanskrit, the classical language of India, means "to be fortunate."
You find the best stuff! The print on the cover of the last book of the set of 10 looks to me like a representation of Paul Revere's ride to alert the Colonists of the advance of the British during the American Revolution.
Haven't seen a pop up needle book before, "made in Japan", yup sounds right, haha... Half off my purchases are justified by "But it's $1... Can't leave it!" Over here it's still chilly, hoping for some warmth soon. 🌞🌞
Wonderful finds! Great books. Went straight from your video to an internet search and found myself a copy of Paper Bliss! Thanks for sharing. The arched shape of those cute illustrations in the other book make me think they need to be behind a window, or door or gate of some kind as a journal page.
