You find the best stuff! The print on the cover of the last book of the set of 10 looks to me like a representation of Paul Revere's ride to alert the Colonists of the advance of the British during the American Revolution.
Gosh I love books! Pre-WWll the swastika was considered a good luck symbol- forever it had been. Then after the war it was taken over, giving it the bad connotations it has today. I think I saw the publication date as 1923? If so, that was before the swastika 'went bad.' Thank you for sharing everything- you found some great treasures!
So many don't realize the true meaning of this beautiful symbol. Found in many cultures of the world. What a shame that Hitler tarnished it with racist connotations. The word "swastika" in Sanskrit, the classical language of India, means "to be fortunate."
