11025Hz/22050Hz is definitely part of the charm. In My Summer Car all the radio tracks are also in 22050Hz and mixing down music to mono and resampling custom imported tracks into 22050Hz makes it kinda funny to listen to in-game tbh
Baroque for Sega Saturn and Doom 64 also use their music/sounds very intentionally, but in their case to capture a nightmarish, grotesque world that the player feels trapped in. It's really cool.
Loved the original film after initially seeing it on cable as a teenager. Got it on DVD after that. The worst (practically unintelligible) dub in the film is the giant mutant who yells out, “Going somewhere?” I bought the PS1 game to try out on my PS2 and ended up reselling it a short time later. It’s truly unplayable, due to its extremely poor controls.
In surveys, ~80% women respond that they WANT and LIKE to be dominated an so on. And men in such surveys actually respond that about ~40% want to dominate. So your points about portrayal of women, stems from you simply not wanting to be dominant. It's fine for all I care. Just don't lie to yourself and others, pretending as if it's some moral good. Majority of women like being dominated, by their own admission. Portraying them as strong, is cringe.
I'm making a Godot game with the Trenchbroom level editor to create the old Quake/Half-Life/Thief look. This video showed me that I'll have to make the sound effects match that too.
