Rat in me kitchen well known hit. Edelweiss "some popularity in Europe" lol, it was a huge hit pronounced edel-vice not edel-wice(its a German word). Star Trekkin was a gigantic hit, and remember most of the others to.
As far as Short Circuit, there weren't many Indian-American actors available at the time. I suppose they could've gone over to Bollywood and tried to find somebody, but instead they just had a white guy play the part.
Simple Minds didn't write their only real hit. In fact, they hated the song and the lead "simple mind" didn't want to sing it. They were also like the 12th band to be asked to sing it after all the others passed on it. So it's a huge irony that it's the only song they are remembered for and they don't deserve the accolades for it..
It's Your Move had one of my favorite episodes of any show. The two of them went on a game show and the neighbor told the kid in order to get them on he had to make up an elaborate backstory for the both of them about being explorers or some such nonsense. As a result, the kid was supposed to have sleeping sickness due to being bitten by tsetse flies on one of the trips. The kid used this fact to great effect when it cam time for him to answer questions only he would know, where he "fell asleep" mid show much to the neighbor's chagrin. I loved that show.
Dr Demento used to play Star Trekkin on his radio show. a liked Charleston Heston is was a funny song and vid Kenny the Kangaroo was kewl, this is my first time hearing it. the rest I have never heard b4 or were really stupid songs LOL
TBH, I wouldn't mind seeing either a "Heathers", (although not listed here) "9 to 5", or (again, not listed here) "The Breakfast Club" movie made today (although with a few minor changes for "Heathers" and "The Breakfast Club" if made in a modern setting). I even did some fancasts once. For "Heathers": Halle Bailey as Veronica Sawyer Georgie Farmer as Jason "J.D." Dean Maya Hawke as Heather Chandler Sadie Sink as Heather "Mac" McNamara Millie Bobby Brown as Heather Duke Devyn Nekoda as Betty Finn Belissa Escobedo as Martha Dunnstock D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai as Peter Dawson Caleb McLaughlin as Dennis Lowry Megan Lawless as Shannen Duke (based on Alice Lee's version of Heather Duke from Heathers The Musical, named after Shannen Doherty) Amandla Stenberg as Lisanne Duke (based on Vivian Panka's version of Heather Duke from Heathers The Musical, named after Lissane Falk) Alexis Nelis as Shelby Walker (based on Melanie Field's version of Heather Chandler from the 2018 TV series and named after the late Kim Walker) Priah Ferguson as Lexia Hughes (based on Jasmine Matthews' version of Heather McNamara from the 2018 TV series) Blu del Barrio as Heathcliff "Heather" Marx (based on Brendan Scannell's version of Heather Duke from the 2018 TV series) Julia Lester as Stoner Girl Jacob Bertrand as Roland "Ram" Sweeney Tanner Buchanan as Kurt Kelly Elodie Grace Orkin as Julia Richter (directly based on 1988 film and Musical versions of Heather Duke, but worse) Jeffrey Wright as Mr. Sawyer Shannen Doherty as Mrs. Sawyer George Clooney as Principal Gowan Matthew Lillard as Father Ripper John Cena as Coach Kelly (Kurt's Dad) Winona Ryder as Ms. Flemming and Christian Slater as Big Bud Dean For "9 to 5": Nia DaCosta as Violet Newstead Ana de Armas as Judy Bernly-Ramirez Stephanie Hsu as Doralee Rhoades and Henry Thomas as Franklin Hart Jr. For "The Breakfast Club": Caleb McLaughlin as Brian, The Brain Xolo Maridueña as Andrew, The Jock Auli'i Cravalho as Claire, The Princess Jenna Ortega as Allison, The Recluse Sauriyan Sapkota as Bender, The Rebel Edward Norton as Principal Vernon and Daveed Diggs as Carl Reed, the Janitor But, because of today's society (mostly due to furry-hating, misogynist, racist, anti-LGBTQ+, ableist, Trump-supporting, basement-dwelling, free-loading dickwads existing, bitching and moaning about women, people of color, the LGBTQ+ community, etc. existing "cough" Daily Wire "cough") and the relavent-yet-touchy topics (which, mind you, are still happening TODAY) of the two films I just mention, I don't think Hollywood would be able to make them.
Clue ♥ There is slapstick that I can't remember (maybe someone here will know it: It's starts with 2 guys breaking into a rich, blind, black man's house and I remember them rummaging through the closet. This is found out because the rich man comes out of the house in mix matched clothes and still acts rich with his walking cane, but looks horrible. Don't remember the plot. Then the end has a car chase and one of the guys has a clown type blow up doll that laughs when you punch it. They get into a car accident, the doll goes flying into the lap of the other driver (police officer maybe) whose ice cream lands on the windshield, and it ends with the clown laughing.
Really? You didn't identify Andrew McCarthy in your St. Elmo's Fire photograph? Who also starred in Pretty in Pink? Come ON. He definitely had a place in the Brat Pack.
That's what I miss about the 80s. It was "ENTERTAINMENT". No one was butt hurt. If Richard Pryor had an issue with it, he wouldn't have done it. The current generations need to chill out and enjoy life, not pick it apart.
This was fun, I forgot about "It's Your Move". His character here reminds me of his character in "Poison Ivy" ♥ I loved Max Headroom, I just had my kids watch it with me. I was disappointed when it was canceled. Our House ♥ Hanks ♥ Sq Pegs ♥ I remember one called "Double Trouble" with redhead twins.
Great video! But a follow-up is needed, including: - The Timelords - Doctorin' The Tardis - Spitting Image - The Chicken Song (B-side also very funny) - Roland Rat Superstar - Rat Rapping (and don't miss this reaction: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e4pgvtYqei4.html 🙂) - Cliff Richard & The Young Ones - Living Doll and probably many more
"Harden My Heart" I still belt this one ♥ ATF.😉 Scandal (I forgot how weird the videos were)♥ The Breakfast Club ♥♥ Cutting Crew, another one to belt♥ Tainted Love ♥ Ricky G (wow, I never knew) 😲
