This doesn't boot directly to desktop.... this boots to the lock screen. Yes, it stops requiring a password but it still boots to the lock screen. I want the boot up screen, and then the desktop, like EVERY version of Windows before this. I am using the PC to run an arcade cabinet, and done want extra Windows screens, so that it is more authentic.
Did you found any solution to this? i'm having exactly this problem right now, i have a pc to run an arcade cabinet and i cant remove that lock screen.
@@ezequielgimenez621 nope. I hunted through forums, videos, and every search criteria that i could think of. I gave up. The arcade machine boots to that screen and I have to click to skip it. Takes away the full effect, but went with it, since I couldn't find a way around it.
Just bought a Asus GTX 1660 for my Dell XPS 8700 because of it's compact size, I didn't think anything else would fit in there. I know my stock PSU is 460W, and recommended is 500 for the gtx 1070 and the 1070 ti. Did you have to upgrade your PSU for this? If Amazon doesn't ship it soon enough I may cancel and reorder this. Edit. I just realized this video is over 3 years old
I have xps 8300 and I am going to install GTX 1070 mini. i7 2600 has 95w tdp, 30 watts more than your i7. So I will remove the 2 extra hdd and unplug the dvd writer. Just to be safe. Because it is 8 years old psu, same as yours Dell 460w. And 1070 needs 8pin power connector, so i will use a 6 pin to 8 pin pci-e converter.
Hey guys - I have an 8700 from 2014 and it has the R9 270. I am running windows 10 and have 24 gb of ram. Is this gtx 1070 a direct replacement and is it better than the R9 270? Thanks much
To answer some questions that have come up in the comments. 1. My BIOS was already fully updated, so going to dells website to update your bios is a good idea just to be sure there are no issues. 2. The 460w power supply is sufficient according to power supply calculators. As well, to this date of using the gtx 1070 I have not run into any issues with playing games at their highest settings at 1080p or 1440p for several hours. The gtx 1070 is very power efficient by its rating and the 460w is more than enough. 3. If you want to upgrade the power supply because the stock psu is cheap made however, then go with a 500w or 600w power supply. Anything else is overkill.
hi, i have the same dell xps 8700...today did the gpu work fine with the 460w power supply? i ask you this question because i want to by a gtx 1070 asus strix
Thanks for this video and for the one with the instillation of the 1070 into your Dell. I too have the XPS 8700, but I have a i5 - 4440 @ 3.10 GHz, is that fine? Do I need to upgrade? Also, and sorry for so many questions, I only have 12 GB of memory. Was going to upgrade to 16, but will this take 32? I thought the limit was 16? And I upgraded my power supply to 600 watts already.
Can someone link me to a video on exactly how to install this into my pc? it's exactly his but i need to know with visual in a video on how to do everything, im a complete noob in computers. thanks guys
Could you please post a link of the video card you used? :) I just want to be ABSOLUTELY sure what I am trying to put in my XPS 8700 will fit. I if understand correctly, graphics card have varying sizes for the same type!
the Fe edition is a blower design, meaning the air is sucked in thru the card and blown out the back of the card where your display cord is attached. This is useful for a dell since we dont have a custom fan and case for optimal air flow. But the other cards are good as well, they can be faster as well as cheaper and still cool the card very well.
thanks for this... i had a 970 in my 8700 and just ordered the 1070 and started wondering if it would have issues. hopefully i can fit the damn thing in there and my psu will hold up till i upgrade it!
