sometimes i forget that you're trying to climb a damn mountain in this game lol Why does Celeste Mountain make it so damn COMPLICATED?? 😩 (jk, the experience is all the better for it lol :3)
12:16 has such a feeling of "Youre so close" and "Fire up, this is gonna be tough." to it, and the 3000m flashing on screen really ties it all together i love this game
The moment the wind changes direction and suddenly rises upwards, like it's helping you. Like the mountain itself wants you to triumph. I got so emotional I needed a pause at that moment.
This game’s awesome, man. Many games like this would’ve just have Badeline been defeated in a boss fight and she would’ve just disappeared that would’ve been a punch in the gut, but no, that’s not what happens with mental illnesses in real life. If you try to “defeat” your illness, it’s not going to work. You need to take it as a part of yourself and use it to better yourself, like Madeline does. That empowers her and together her and Badeline climb the mountain together.
i was literally crying when i reached the top of the mountain. The amount of rage, pain, failure, anxiety and doubt in exchange for this ending is simply sweet and victorious. I really like how the game started counting down from 30 to show how close you are to the end. One of the best game ever made
All of the screams and pain my thumb had to endure from sitting on my dpad was worth it to get to see this game’s ending, one of the most beautiful games I’ve ever played
Ohh nooooo my boy how could you go through the whole level without skipping any dialogue and then skip the piano line as Madeline looks on from the summit????? The most beautiful bit of the level by far?? Goddamn that is shocking
Like reaching the summit for the very first time and it’s a unique piano line that reverberates in you, with modifications that leave no room for progress because you’ve gone as high as you can. So so satisfying to hear that and take a breath as you process not only a fantastic level and exhilarating race for the peak but also just an incredible game overall
Dark Madeline has a bit of a point. Oshiro’s denial of the place being closed (and his own death and lack of staff, honestly) is sadly pathetic and Madeline NEVER should have humoured him if she had no intention to stay. It leads Oshiro on and makes Madeline look like a flake. She doesn’t deny the twisted ego remark because it does ring sort of true; she wanted to help so that SHE could do something good FOR ONCE. At the root of it, it was to soothe some part of her own conscience rather than what’s best for Oshiro. I disliked Oshiro. His pushiness was uncalled for and really frustrating. The way he constantly brushed off your words grated. But he didn’t deserve having his hopes needlessly lifted.
the suspense when theres the 3000m left was just soooo.. like u can tell in this playthru too, there's an intensity to it. you know you're so close. its a little intoxicating
it hurts to see him just fly through after i wasted hours on these (maybe because i was using keyboard) but i am sure even though i had a keyboard i wouldnt be able to play this well ❤🎉😂
It's the wavedash at 00:27. To perform a wavedash you need to be off the ground (in this case it is achieved by preserving height from the previous room) then dash diagonally down to the ground and jump to get a big speed boost and keep your dash.
