Thanks, but no thanks. I'll just buy a used BCD996T and call it a day. The serial cable and software alone would probably be >$100 and I'll still f**k it up.
Hello. I'm 18 and It has been my dream for years to have a Radio from Nassau County Police to listen to. I'm willing to pay a lot of money to have one. Is there anywhere that you know of where I can get one?
I also have a BCT8. It has no channels other than what the factory installed/programmed. If there are no other frequencies, shall I do this upgrade anyway? If so, will I then be able to program all my desired frequencies? I know the question is vague, but I'm new to scanning. Thanks for the videos.
Thanks for the reply! I can't do anything! I get the message Charge now Yes or No! or the disconnect the battery from power source and wait one minute! I've done this countless times! I've changed SD cards 3 times! ! I had it working for a few days but then the last ten months nothing! Just the same frustrating message! I even let it sit for 3 weeks and tried again and same message!
If you have an external card reader, try taking the SD card out of the HP-2 and using the card reader to reformat the card and clear the user data with Sentinel.
Hi, RU-vid marked your first response as SPAM and I must have missed your comment. The best way to reach me is always through my websites. Your problem is likely with the SD Card. If you can put the scanner into Mass Storage Mode, you can download a program called SDFormatter and that should reformat the SD Card. Once you've reformatted the card, open Sentinel and from the top menu bar, click "Home Patrol" and then "Clear User Data". Once you restart the HP-2, you should be able to boot. From there, you can write to the HP-2 using the Sentinel Software. I can't post any links here, but if you need further help, please e-mail me at sales at w2lie dot net.
What your doing will eventually get you locked Up Eventually they will figure out someone is monitor there trunked system! Then they'll look on the first logical place......... RU-vid!!!!!!! it's locked for a reason. For there safety Good luck going to prison
Joe, if you look at the date of the video, and listen my verbal comments, I am not monitoring the P25 system. What you hear in the video is the old (now shut down) Simulcast of their P25 system and the simulcast was "in the clear". Between the time of my video post and your comment the simulcast was disabled. I'm now no longer able to monitor the system.
Joseph Gallagher trunked and encryption does not mean locked nor illegal to monitor but you would know that if you had any Le affiliation or radio education. Problem is decoding mototrbo
Excellent instruction video, I am thinking about purchasing a Home Patrol 1. I already have a Uniden BC-346xt handheld scanner, is my current scanner as good as the HP-1, as far as reception quality?
I already have the sentinel program in my computer that I use for my 436. Can I use this very same program already installed in my computer to program this HP-2?
im honestly not good with this stuff, just started to get into it I know we trunk & they use Motorola radios but that is the only extent. EDACS & P25,......I have know clue! how do I find out?
If, I have know idea what the tones are.. will it store them so I can recall them later? I was planning on leaving the scanner alone while at work and come home to the data!
Queston: On my BCT-8 I can get OCPD (Oklahoma City Police) in trucking using the State mode and I get something like, OK 53 744 as a frequency. Is there any way mod or otherwise to save those numbers? The 800 frequencies and talk groups that radioreference.com has listed does not pick up anything.
The home patrol comes with everything you need to scan. I bought digital scanners from radio shack and I had to purchase separately: ac adapter, batteries, software, pc cable plus a $30 subscription to radio reference to program it. All in all- I had to pay an additional $115 on top of the $500 scanner. The home patrol is a keeper!
