How to upgrade the firmware on a Uniden BCT-8 Scanner and Reband a Motorola and EDACS Trunk System. Uniden Firmware Website: info.uniden.com/twiki/bin/view...
I strongly suggest using software to program the BCT-8. One piece that I use is BuTel's ARC-8, but you still need to enter the reband tables manually. That is what I had done in the video. I resell the BuTel on my website
I am learning how to use ARC8 with my scanner, how do i manually get the reband table into my scanner ? Very new to this and Uniden is difficult to follow, might just be me though. Help me if you can... Thanks
Omg so hard to program it took me two days just to program this scanner. At first I thought I was getting my local frequencies but then I was only getting one part of my city so I had to figure out the talk groups and that was no easy feat. So yeah it's a great scanner a very hard to comprehend.
Having the same problem, any advice on how to enter rebanding table into the BCT8 ? and also the easiest way to get the Freq and Talkgroups with trunking banks in, i am totally new to this, any help would be appreciated. thanks
I also have a BCT8. It has no channels other than what the factory installed/programmed. If there are no other frequencies, shall I do this upgrade anyway? If so, will I then be able to program all my desired frequencies? I know the question is vague, but I'm new to scanning. Thanks for the videos.
Queston: On my BCT-8 I can get OCPD (Oklahoma City Police) in trucking using the State mode and I get something like, OK 53 744 as a frequency. Is there any way mod or otherwise to save those numbers? The 800 frequencies and talk groups that radioreference.com has listed does not pick up anything.
im honestly not good with this stuff, just started to get into it I know we trunk & they use Motorola radios but that is the only extent. EDACS & P25,......I have know clue! how do I find out?
Not with this radio. If you wanted to alpha tag frequencies, please shoot me an e-mail and I will supply you with a list of scanners. If you have this radio, and would like to use alpha tags, you will need to plug it into your computer and use software like BuTel ARC8
