I want a watch under 50k so I can celebrate a great accomplishment . How can I possibly not pick this ( actually a Lange 1 since it fits my price bracket ) over a Rolex?
The honey gold datograph lumen is just beautiful and a hopeful addition someday. Watches are one of those ways that man has created amazing art, alongside cathedrals & orchestral marvels, etc. This watch is another example of why I’m only for lange in higher horology, I’ll never sell my 1815
This is all marketing BS. I finally collected by Datograph yesterday and all I can say is that I am left underwhelmed and disappointed. Anthony always harps on about precision engineering and relentless pursuit of perfection in the finishing. What a crock of 💩. The Datograph that was delivered to me has a chrono seconds hand that doesn’t even align with the noon dial when the reset button is hit. The button change the date is “squishy” and feels cheap- unlike the buttons to start/stop and reset the chronograph, which have amazing mechanical feel. The black dial on the 405.031 is just rubbish. I have been completely out of this brand. Anthony waxes poetic on every video he is featured on. But this is disingenuous marketing BS. Can’t stand listening his crap anymore. Stopped the video 1 minute. This guy can F off
When Philippe Dufour was asked what he thought would be the best *serially produced* wristwatch available, he said "I'll show you." He then went to his safe and pulled out a Lange Datograph.
I dunno, seems fine to me. Nothing about him seems pretentious, he is after all the boss of a luxury watch product. How many CEO's from other luxury manufacturers do you see giving interviews?
I love these types of repeat interviews with people who have a long history with the brand, really shows the deep friendship these two have and is a perfect representation of how the company treats its customers.
Ben's unctuous, affected gesticulations combine with his self-soothing "fun" clothes to produce a deeply inauthentic, unsettling personality. This ersatz discussion is simply a thinly-veiled employ of the marketing pull he commands over the Hodinkee flock.
always great to see Ben and Wilhelm get together for a discussion. now if Lange will just come out with a Saxonia moonphase with a blue dial in rose gold! :)
Lovely timepiece but an obscene amount on a watch which is really just bits and bobs to tell the time. It will appeal to the weak and wounded needing an ID enchancer
What an epitome of perfection coupled with craftmanship! This really has proven to the watchmaking industry how far A. Lange & Sohne has gone in terms of bringing timeless design and perfection in a single piece
