New sources of inspiration and our devotion to the highest standards led to the development of the second generation of the ZEITWERK. Thanks to the evolved calibre L043.6, the exceptional timepiece now has a power reserve doubled to 72 hours and offers even greater convenience. Even though the minute-by-minute progression of the large jumping numerals may seem to be moved by magic, it is precisely controlled by a reliable calibre with seven patents. I think jumping numerals and retrograde hands are going to be the future of watchmaking. There's a new generation of millennial watch buyers who grew up with digital clocks, and they don't like analog clocks or traditional wristwatches. If I can have a mechanical watch that's easy to read while also keeping the craftsmanship, that's ideal.

The screw in the face of the clock, that is not in line with the numbers kills me. It devalues the piece.

I don't know about corruption but from what one buyer says there's plenty of what I'd call politics. To buy one of these you don't just have to pay a lot of money but also join a waiting list. That's not so bad, but to even join the waiting list you have to buy a bunch of other watches from them first, and the requirements aren't clear. It seems an odd way to treat customers who are willing to pay so much for a watch, or in fact any customers at all.
