@ 6:30 just know that inserting the thin cable from the sd adapter board into the POE hat is really easy. It's not explained anywhere, but before you try to insert it into the POE hat slot, there is a gray clip in the front of the slot that has to be pulled out. Push the cable in and then pop the gray clip back in to secure to thin cable. I had to learn this the hard way.
It would be better if they were fully enclosed for dusty environments that's including covers for the front for when you don't use the HDMI board or you don't fill the entire rack up with PIs
Pc partpicker don't have this motherboard listed. Can someone tell me how to calculate the wattage of the smps that will be necessary to run this motherboard?
hello, first, great work here, thnaks 4 that; question, i have same motherboard and CPu, but never goes more than 2.6 ghz, so tb donty works for me, can u tell me whye; again thanks a lot
wow some people are dumb the x79 chips are brand news meaning NEVER USED now as for the cpiu its used and repurposed man you must have some dumb subs if they believe a word you say lol so dumb
Could a e5-2695 v2(115W) or e5-2697(130W) work with this pico power supply? Since the video is 3 year old has anyone else watching this video lately bought it and is it the same?
I love Smallrig as a company and generally have much love for their products, but these adapters are garbage. I have replaced these before and cannot trust them. Every single one that I have purchased has deteriorated within 6 months of use. I only use my cameras in a temperature controlled studio. Without fail, the PVC jacketing comes apart, exposing the shield and conductors. I had one camera lose video output and I'm convinced it was because of the severe deterioration of the cable. Smallrig has good support and has sent me replacements, but at this point I'm looking for another cable clamp solution for cameras that have micro HDMI.
Here I am in 2023 December and just picked up an x79 pro with e5 2650 and am about to build my first budget build in almost 20 years! No more console! Let's goooo
Great work. I now understand how to use the Stream Deck with a Pi but what about the Stream Deck software itself? I'd also like to use buttons that come directly from the Stream Deck software at the same time (using various Stream Deck plugins). The problem is we have a MacBook Air with just 2 USB C ports with a docking hub and Companion loses the connection to the Stream Deck. After working for a few minutes, we get the red flags on each button and no apparent way to reconnect it. Is there a way to set up Companion on the Pi and still use the Stream Deck software simultaneously?
You can go through and double check all the connections are fully seated/inserted. I had a similar issue on another kit where a connector was just on backwards: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-020lW8O-oK4.html
@@BensTechLab I can get it to work manually on Pi Lite but i get Failed to start RC-local.service - /etc/rc.local Compatability. See' systemctl status rc-local.service' for details. on start up. I checked that and it just said it wouldnt start...
hope u can help me on this -- I did this scenario several times, and is unable to bring up on browser from several pcs laptops etc. im able to ssh in from different pc's but no browser???? i also tried remote desktop and it connect but gives a black blank screnn thanks for any input.
I'm not sure I can help with this as it may be unique to your setup. If you can SSH to the rpi that is a good sign that your network is all working. I'd review the boot-up text on the rpi very closely to make sure it is starting companion as expected.
i think the only thing i don't like about that item, is that they didn't design it to be modular. what i mean is, each time you want to add or remove a pi, the WHOLE shelf needs to be removed. uctronics does have another version, though with a few less features, where each pi is on its own insert, and thus each pi can be removed on its own. beyond that, that looks really cool. I love your desktop rack. though personally i have a 42u rack. To each his own there for each situation ;) i do wish these things were cheaper, as i REALLY want to get a Pi 4B, but i have other priorities that i need to spend money on :(
@@sniper_d_calaile1516 I believe so as stated here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-j0KlaXAwLEQ.htmlsi=BkG2foyyXADFW_CL . but it seems like it's not as robust a solution as we might believe.
So I just saw your video and this is very helpful. Question though: Now that I have the Companion image on the Raspberry Pi, if I take that Pi to another network, basically the same setup, will all my setting still hold even though I am not on the same network?
Yes your companion configuration is stored on the file system in the raspberry pi and will travel with the rpi. In case you are ever worried, you can backup your settings in the companion UI and download a configuration file!
ive just builid this same setup thanks for the vrm thermal headups tip. Have you manage to make it run with quad channel memory configuration. I have installed 4 sticks of ddr3 1600 but it does not work as quad channel. Any input would be appreciated. thanks
This video doesn't really cover the ATEM setup with companion. But the way I use companion my Atem is on the local network and a desktop PC is not required at all (do not need to be run Atem Software control - companion can do all the controlling!).
What’s the point of running several pis in a rack? I have 3 pis in this very rack by the way. I couldn’t resist. It’s like legos for me. But what software should I install???
Ben, this topic is of great interest to me. However your delivery and the way you stare off camera made me extremely uncomfortable. I was reminded of a trip to the Serengeti in my early 20s (this was 1968) where I became stranded. A black mamba approached me in a weakened state with the same look as you. I'll never forget that snake for sparing my life, but I feel like you wouldn't, given the opportunity. As I understand, AI face changing filters have come a long way, maybe something to look into for future videos?
