Hi Chris, nice and bright 4k colors. (I guess it is a new Sony camera). For ink I am looking for a bright red that can show off its beauty in a clear eye-dropped barrel and also come across bright on good FP paper. Your time stamp colors in 0:49 to 0:55 look very attractive. I have just started collecting a few inks and in red I only tried Waterman’s Audacious Red so far. What reds can you recommend? Please keep the videos coming but still I wish you to enjoy a happy and relaxed retirement. 🍁
Thank you SO MUCH for this video! I never knew this about Zinnias! They are remarkable flowers. Thanks for sharing! They are most beautiful and your pics so up close are fantastic! I know which flowers Im buying next!
This is a pen I inherited from my artist father, who used pens like this to accent his water colour portraits. I don't use it, because it's an heirloom, but it's in pristine condition. I'm tempted to ink it up...
Hi Chris I bought asvine v126 and would like to swap nibs with something very wide like a 1.9 mm calligraphy nib. I can simply remove the nib without removing the feeder. Would you be able to tell me which nibs are compatible with this pen?
I just got my second P20 and again it does not disappoint. A $30 pen. And you can get an expensive pen and it could write like crap, but these....NOPE!!!! These pens really surprised me how smooth they write. They have no flaws out of the box.
Great review; I don’t know how I missed this till now. Thank you Chris for covering everything that this world of affordable pens offers and that we enjoy so much. Bravo! 🇨🇦
Nice to see one of my people on your feeder! I think if it were a little easier to use, my parents would like this. They love feeding hummingbirds. But the technology to get the videos and pictures would challenge them!
This is so cool. Thanks for sharing. Do you know if hummingbird feeders attract other critters? We had mice a few years back and I’ve heard that traditional feeders can attract mice. I was thinking that maybe a hummingbird feeder might be an option?
Hey Chris! Another great video, and I'm glad to see that my inks are working for you. Thanks for showing them off again 😊 The p20 looks great... im a fan of the orange one. Just about to board my flight at Sea-Tac!
The Chinese pen manufacturers seem to finally be realizing that westerners pefer wider nibs, and even if they still call them fine, they seem to be wider.
I like the P20 very much. It was my first Asvine and I think it was the first model offered by the company. I have enjoyed most of their pens. I reserve judgement on the P36. This version with the Hawai'i resin is very nice. It is very bright and does bring images of the tropics to me. Very good review, Chris.
“Some people shouldn’t buy fountain pens (if they aren’t happy with resins not matching 100%)”….lol…well said! We are fortunate we can get gorgeous acrylics in wonderfully made pens that write smoothly for under $40!
Great review. I got one of the new P20s in what looks like PenBBS color 'Berries'. What a great pen. It's everything that PenBBS could have been. My first P20 in one of the blue colors had a large chunk of the barrel fall out.
I am glad to see som new colors from Asvine, and I hope they add some new models too. Of the various Asvine pens that I own, the P20 and V126 are my favorite models. I also hope they release some new colors in the P50, as I do not care for any of the current colors of the P50.
Hi Chris, great review. I love the new colours, I'm just about to order a pinky/purple one. It will be my first Asvine :) Chels. Oh my Goooooooodnesssss the Rainbow version of the V200, it's in the cart with a Bock nib.
I've been looking for a dupe to the Taccia, Sailor, and Pelikan transparent neon green fountain pens. That Jinhao transparent green pen looks like an ok dupe. It's not as highlighter green as I'd like, but it's transparent and green enough.
Do you happen to still have the pen ? The same seller you got it from messed or tweaked badly the pen to the point where the piston filler mechanism is none existent with a touch of glued converter to the section
Great review! I recentoy got two 9013s in yellow. I inked one with Robert Oster Gold Antiqua which compliments it well. I cleaned the nib, filled the pen and it writes very well.
Hello Chris, i got a rotring core fountain pen, probably the first version of it because it has that orange thing where the cartridge converter goes in, it also has those leters and numbers on the metal top of the cap, like yours. My question is, do you know if the feed is screwed on, or if it's friction fit ? Nib seems to be wrapping around the feed in a lamy safari style, but how do i remove the feed ? Thank you in advance !
Interesting review! Gorgeous pen but shame about the wood cracking. Any info on if they’ll try to release a better version? I still see it on sale on Etsy etc but alot of reviews about cracks in the wood barrel.
@@chrisrap52 Sally from Easybuy told me that they “corrected” the wood on the N24 at it doesn’t crack anymore on the “improved version” but haven’t really seen any reviews yet that confirm!
The little Jinhao 82 is indeed a beautiful writer and I love all the colors it comes in. It's just a perfect size for me. Every month I make sure I ink up at least one Jinhao 82. Sometimes two or three. By the way, I just discovered that Diamine Cocoa Shimmer from a sample I got recently. I had already decided a wanted a bottle of it before watching your video.
I thought about the 82 but went for the 80. Perhaps I will swap a Lamy nib into it. That is the only reason I have, lol. Jinhao nibs have gotten better over the past year. As you mentioned, the #8 nibs by Jinhao have been great as have their #6 nib. The Jinhao 100 I got had a great EF nib!
Thank you Chris for starting our day with another great pen video and exhortations. Bought a few 82 Mini that you recommended last year and was not disappointed. Have a great weekend.
I think the 82 is a wonderful pen! I've got one in my favourite black & silver, and bought an 82 Mini (because it qualifies as a pocket pen), though I didn’t love the ivory colour and gold trim. And yesterday, I took delivery of an 82 in translucent electric blue with chrome trim, which I bought on a whim to reach a free postage threshold. I should put it in the penabling pile, but it's very hard not to adore it. 82s forever! 😂😂
I'm with you about Jinhao. Haven't found one I didn't like writing with. Nice review of 82. You might convince me to try an extra fine nib again (I've only used one I like. Surprisingly an old Esterbrook 2550. And I've tried a decent amount of extra fine nibs in the past.)
I have the original M2 (green, F nib) which I bought as an alternative to the Kaweco Sport. It lives with my edc pocket notebook and I really like it. Can't say I'm a fan of the new colour though.
