Trey is the control freak that deserves his flock. He wants control to protect a universal vision that all life reflects. He has a multi dimensional understanding of what is wholesome and just. Unbias.. yet completely intentional. Beyond my psychoanalytic banter of the man I have also never personally met except in passing ... He has risen above what the forefathers of psychedelic expression and rock and jazz roll fell victim to. He would be dead or imprisoned away from his Devine influence on society if he hadn't gotten clean. After realizing what he has built with the Divided Sky Foundation and the Recovery Center that stemmed from The Ludlow, VT based Divided Sky Org . . The 12-step based residential shelter called The Retreat in Minnisota has been a physical hospice and cyber outreach network that has helped 10's thousands of addicts in the last handful of years. The Beacon shows during the Pandemic raised enough funding through viral content internet ad value.. and also all sales from 《LiVE Phish》... and The DAAM (Dinner and a Movie) broadcasts Phish shared for love and premium access... He has been a saint to the GenX>Millinial generations that Phish rose through... and will live on as a Philanthropist to the GenY-GenZ and beyond gens of Psychonauts. The man is a god damned light. The Beacon shines beyond the concept. He just recently publicly mentioned after the Sphere shows and following summer Phish tour and his TAB festival commitments that he hadn't been able to slow enough and appreciate the fiscal successes of The Retreat rehab center. It was all kind of a wishful dream that wasn't sustainably grounded for long term success until this summer. Between the Beacon Show funds that were used to open The Retreat, and the staff's hard work and reliability they have established a pattern of recovery successes embraced with financial prosperity. He cried talking about it at a recent recovery convention he was asked to be a spokesperson at. I cried with him. Truly a gift to man Trey is.... (pretty dope ax slayer too, if you're into 82 min Tweezers)😂
Damn. I don't know why I haven't absorbed how dope this is until today .... I watched the original broadcast. I have skimmed past it, looking for a more traditional rock and roll texture version of it. The reasoning for wanting the harsher tones during those other environments hold true ... I guess I just hadn't had a mellow without harshing until this eve. Whatever the case... this is now part of my soul. Hoorah... and all that.
I feel like this song would sound great with a banjo (This is a joke, I know Billy usually plays it with his bluegrass band with Billy Failing on the banjo)
Billy has been the shot of renewal for whom all of us revering the 60s have been longing. Thank you Trey, Bob, Warren and others for the confidence to share the stage with him. He brings out the best in y’all.
What a moment. I'll never forget those free Phish shows where we sometimes got the band in the chat. Just living it with us. And then this masterful live performance.
Billy strings is the man watch this song played by him and his band Austin City Limits Live they jam out hard it’s a great version just as this one is with Trey
