Should be banned 100%. That was just a little something to try getting some pressure off. The ones kicking and screaming like kids not getting their way over the pressure to ban FFS are the ones that know they can't compete against real SKILLED fishermen. I made a comment on a video months ago where a so-called "pro" was pimping FFS. My comment was, what skill and experience is involved in watching the fish on a screen and dropping a jig in front of them compared to being able to read the water, conditions, structure and blind casting for fish. All while his video was standing on the deck staring at the multiple screens and dropping jigs. He said I was naive, "just because I can see 150 fish in a day don't mean I can catch them". Well, to me that doesn't say much for his fishing skills! Can see exactly where they are and still can't put them in the boat! Another made a video saying there was no proof that FFS increased bass catch ratio. He said wildlife has done studies that prove FFS significantly increase crappy catch ratio, but no study has shown FFS increases bass catch ratio. Think that statement through! It's all about the corp money and people being told to keep their mouth shut. I stopped bass fishing years ago, I strictly saltwater fish. I know without a doubt if I installed FFS on by bay boat, it would increase my catch ratio. But that takes away from the sport of fishing. Calling using FFS "fishing" is like calling guys shooting wild hogs from a helicopter "hunters"! One thing I think is defiantly wrong is the record titles. Why praise dudes setting catch records in tournaments using FFS when they are beating older records of guys with skill that know how to fish and set those records? Technology is making people dumb, lazy and incompetent. It's all about the instant gratification, not about learning the sport and a skill! Ban FFS in all tournaments for 2 years, that will show the REAL FISHERMEN!
Come on... what a joke. We will still be looking at the back of heads. And so much for the co anglers ... nouthing has changed at all, and another session without me watching this boring spotlight fishing... like I said, what joke... how about developing the skill and taking the time to improve
Sounds like you’re one of the clueless anglers in the comments everywhere. Technology does not make an angler ever. There’s no skill in drowning a soft plastic in weeds. Not sure how you can have ffs and not realize how it works. Guys have screens so they don’t have to push a button, it’s personal preference. No one needs 6 screens and it doesn’t make you better. You need a 1500 transducer and that’s it to compete. Your biggest barrier to getting the elites is not technology, it’s having to pony up 50k to compete in the 9 opens when it used to be just one division. That completely eliminates dreamers. Stop listening to Randy and think for yourself.
I’m sorry i’m not clear on what point you're driving home. I personally have nothing against technology. I have forward facing sonar and find it to be a valuable tool. I also have nothing against someone having 6 screens. That was just one of the rule changes. The only point that I was making is that to have a competitive boat just got cheaper which will bring down the cost of competing and make it more accessible for people that are struggling just to pay the entry fees. As for dragging a soft plastic through grass not taking skill, I don't see the difference of fishing a worm, crank bait, or chatter bait taking more skill or less than the other. Can you clarify?
@@thebraveangler You think technology makes the angler. You think without tech they will struggle and the veterans will thrive. Your mentality puts tech in a platform. Ffs and number of graphs and transducers do not tell an angler where the winning bag is. The angler makes that decision which is the most important decision. You can spend a 100k on electronics and you still get no advantage. Technology is not a barrier to the sport. 1500 transducer is all you need. The biggest barrier is money and it’s finding money to go through the gauntlet of the opens.
Okay, I get what you're saying. Do feel that technology gives no advantage when going to a unfamiliar body of water? I’m not a pro yet, but without technology it would take more than 3 days of practice to break down a body water. Add on top of that all different kind of fisheries. Perhaps your right. I always believed the best angler are the best at adjusting to conditions at lease the most consistent ones. Wiether technology plays a role or not its too far embedded for anyone to ever know for sure.
@Johnafinn That's my point. When you limit what these guys can use it makes it fair for everyone. Limiting it to one makes it a level across the field. Some guys can't afford to run 3 livescope transducers or put 40-50k into their electronics. It's hard enough for guys coming in to afford paying for the tournaments. Now I have no problem with ffs. I use it myself. It's a great tool when I need it but I don't use it as much as I would side or down.
@@JupiterBassin These are elite series anglers they can all afford whatever they want. They choose not to because it and no benefit to them. Boats come stock with graphs from factory. The 40-50k in electronics is a myth unless you’re adding trolling motor, power poles, etc to it. Transducer is 1500, 12” graph 3-4k. It comes with two. Where do we get to 50k?
@Johnafinn All electronics. There are a few videos where they interview those guys on their electronics. Most of them said 20k to 30k for their "basic" set up but a few guys run up to 40 to 50k for all their electronics.
Definitely looking forward to the future of bass fishing! Great video. Very interesting! Thank you for sharing and hope you and Caroline have a great weekend! the future
While I don't do tournaments, I do like the news. I do a lot of old school and skill-based fishing and like to teach that to my son in our videos. So, excited to hear the upper level is prioritizing that more. Glad we found your channel with that last video. I like your story, and this seems to be a great plot twist in your favor. I'm definitely more interested in watching tournament stuff now by just following your story. Plus, I think it could be great avenue for my son when he gets older.
I think the act of participating in tournaments teaches a lot of important life lessons. I appreciate the support. At the end of the day it all about spreading the joy of fishing
People grow up. It's fishing. Some of you act like it's a life changing die-hard event. Someone pulls one of your fuses out of your boat, and most guys who call themselves pro. Will put their boat back on their trailers and go home.
@@thebraveanglerYou do know that there is this thing called past tournament results? It’s where you can look up anglers before ffs and see how they did. Yup, they all still dominated. If you were trying to form an honest opinion it would have been something you did years ago. You actually think that a top tier pro just started fishing 3 years ago.
A lot of the anglers have come in since ffs with no prior results to make that determination. I'm not saying that ffs makes a angler. However, if you were to take the technology away, would trey mckinney be able to keep up with kvd? I'm not so sure and most of the pros who were dominating before ffs have adapted to it. What I saying about the limitations of technology isn't about the technology itself but rather the cost associated with having a competitive boat. By putting a limit on how much tech can be on a boat, it makes the angler rely more on their skill rather than being able to pay more money to increase their competitive edge. And while some would say that pro anglers have the money I would say that's true of the top 20 but that leaves 80% of the field are barely making a profit
The future is yours, go get it!!! I have always wanted to go to a tournament with a little old jon boat with no electronics or cushioned seats. Not enter the tournament but let all the boats take off, then take off in my jon boat. Fish the day and go up to weigh my fish last. I know they would tell me no, but would love to show them a top ten bag can be done. Your dream just became closer with these changes. Would love to see you on that stage!!! Good luck!!!
Dude, great video. Really like hearing this. I've bene planning to do a video similar to this myself. My son and I have been going at it for 8 months. Definitely a grind. We're having the opposite problem. We are under 300 subs but are almost at 2000 watch hours. Totally agree on needing it to be a passion project. We do family friendly fishing and how to fish with kids. It's memories I'll cherish forever. Really like that journey is becoming a pro angler as a "regular" guy. Liked and subscribed. Look forward to seeing more. Who knows maybe even collaborations down the road.
Thanks for the sub man ill head over and sub to you as well! Love seeing more new people coming into the niche and like the idea of fishing with family and kids. Excited to watch your channel grow as well and support your growth! Absolutely, we are always down for a collab!
I have watched you guys grow your channel for a long time. You have a few more big jumps in subs to come. I watch every video from a few channels (not just fishing) because of the person, or people on the channel. Yes I like the content, but the people like you guys is what keeps me tuned in for every video. I feel like I am there with you guys when watching your videos, I love it. Keep up the great work.
Nice video! You guys are doing great! I have just been doing what I like and its not growing very fast but I didn't expect it to grow fast. Thanks for sharing!!
No problem I think it’s easy for a lot of people to think everything is going to blow up quick from those other channels on RU-vid but it’s a long game for sure!
Good job with the video buddy! You shared some really good information for those folks starting or already having a small channel trying to grow. As always, I hope you and Caroline are enjoying life, having fun and living the dream!
Good insight man, the youtube creator channels don't tell the full truth. I've been at it for over a year and nowhere close to 2k, so I'd say your channel is blowing up.
Right! They really don’t but that’s how they get all the clicks with their “RU-vid secrets” when there really isn’t any it’s just a long game. Appreciate you!
So sorry for the loss and for the way things are. It’s so admirable that you are talking about it and considering what to do. ❤ And good you are out in nature for some refresh.
I'm so so sorry for the loss of one of your brothers and for his family as well! Praying for each of you! I wish the very best for you and Caroline, my brother! Appreciate you opening up and sharing with us. Very nice video and always awesome to see you fishing with your #1. I will always try to be hear when you put something out. Hang in there my friend and do what you have to do!
I appreciate that DW. We’re getting back into the swing of things and have new things we’re trying to just have more fun with the channel. Hope all has been well with you.
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Some people can be so evil and we are living in evil and crazy times. We completely understand you having second thoughts on your career, we commend all first responders not sure how y'all do it. We will be praying for y'all. 🙏
It really is. My prayers goes out to everyone than knew him and had the pleasure to work with. Especially to his family. I can't imagine what they are going through. I just know I can't put mine through the same.
Sorry to hear all this. My condolences to the officer’s family and I pray for all officers and first responders. It’s a dangerous job and many times a thankless one. But I do thank all of you!
Sorry for the lose brother and what your gonna do is what's best for u and your family and reset I can't think of a better way to reset the out on the water fishing
